RE Burger Barrington — Restaurant in Christchurch

This is a difficult place for me to review, because it's targeting a market that I'm not attracted to. It's mainly due to the price. The cheapest beef burger on the menu was $13.70, which is too high for my liking for fast food. I do think a lot of kiwi owned businesses try to market themselves as gourmet and end up being too expensive.

The restaurant was clean, but the serving area was cordoned off by what looked like a prison style metal wall which I didn't like. I had a Smash Prince burger which was $14.30. It was a good size and decent quality (the meat was much better than McDonalds), but not what I would class as amazing. The sauce very much reminded me of Big Mac sauce actually. I wanted a drink but wasn't willing to pay an extra $4.60 for a small 420ml coke. And then they charged a surcharge for paywave on top.

It may well be a fair price for the goods they are selling, that reflects the cost of ingredients, staffing, property rental etc. But it's just not a cost I'm willing to pay on a regular basis for fast food. But I realise that many people will love it. It's...

Tried all the other ones so had to try the new one aye! Best set up I've seen, kitchen is right there at the counter which I love, see all the action! Tuesday is always a great day to visit here hint hint, but any day is great for a burger and the best seasoned chips in town. The tables are awesome, lower ones with bench seating or awesome bar leaners with bar stools, great idea and can fit plenty of people around the table if you're feeding lots of hungry mouths. The place is clean with a great location, friendly staff and the burger menu we have grown to love is as good as ever! Delicious and well-priced. The three of us spent ~$20 each overall and walked away with food babies. Everything was fresh, lovingly made, and served with a smile. Can't really fault the place eh!

UPDATE Dined here again on 27 July. Friend and I had a couple of burgers and shared some loaded fries. Food still tasted great, the presentation was like out of a catalogue, and the cook/server was exuded happiness and positivity. Made for an awesome experience....
