Smoke 'n' Barrel — Restaurant in Christchurch

Installed in their new site on Ferry Road in Woolston Village and the outfit looks and feels spacious and clean. Incredible flavours in their food, and obviously caring owners who value their customers. Our server was very friendly and informative. Even the kitchen staff were obviously having fun which was so pleasant to see. The bar has a nice selection of drinks, but it's much more a restaurant than a pub which is fine when the food is so good!

My partner and I went for our date night and had the pork green curry mac'n'cheese, and the Sunday Roast Beast which was twice cooked pork belly for the first week here. Perfect crackling, tender pork, and delicious potatoes plus charred veg, gravy and a yorkshire pud each. We ate absolutely everything and then followed it up with a sublime slice of flaky apple pie, and a plate of milk and cookies where the cookies were firm on the outside but so warm and soft and moist on the inside. My partner is from America and the American inspiration on the menu so far was such a genuine taste of home for him. The prices are also very reasonable for the amount and quality of food.

We're already looking forward to going back, even if just for a drink in their upstairs lounge to relax in the comfortable atmosphere. Well done, Smoke 'n' Barrel, and welcome to the...

Had my first visit to the Smoke N Barrel restaurant yesterday and, wow, it was awesome! We decided to order 3 Sunday roasts, we had them all served on one massive sharing board. Honestly, the amount of good food was just unbelievable. Also had the jalapeno poppers and loaded potato skins for entrees, I need these in my life daily 🤤

The staff there were just as amazing as the food. Big smiles, super knowledgeable about everything on the menu, and had a joke or two, making the whole experience really laid-back and fun. It's not just about the food with them; it's about making sure everyone's having a great time.

I've come across these guys before while working as a photographer at a few weddings. I always get a little extra excited when I hear Smoke N Barrel is handling the catering. It's clear they're all about creating awesome food experiences. They put so much care and passion into their cooking, it's hard not to notice.

Honestly, I can't recommend them enough. If you're looking for a place with great vibes, even better food, and a team that makes you feel right at home, Smoke N Barrel is the spot. Definitely looking forward to...

Our first time dining at this particular restaurant. Everything (including the toilets) was spotless. Service was great and we received our food quickly. We ordered the pulled pork burger, ribs, salad, potatoe skins & cornbread. Portion sizes were average, no complaints there. Burgers: Pork on the burgers was plentiful, though a little dry, kids didn't seem to be fans. Salad of the day: Some of the components in the salad were a bit funky. Flavour was different. Was ok when eaten with the meat. Ribs: Decent size, very meaty. Meat is not cheap to buy these days so while pricing seems a little steep it's probably about right. Flavour wise they were average. Potato skins: Flavour was good, quite tasty. Corn bread: This one was just ok compared to the last cornbread we had at another similar restaurant.
