Intial impression was very positive. Parking was easy to find. We met with the receptionist, picked our cat treats & drinks, and headed upstairs. There was a group of 5 already present, but there was enough room for our group of 3 to settle in easily. The cats were adorable, well-behaved, and appeared healthy. Our drinks took a while to arrive, but were delicious. However, another group of 5 soon arrived. At this point, things were getting a bit cramped, but not absurdly so... Until another group arrived. And another. In total, we counted 24 people shoved into 2 connected rooms, with the majority of cats & people in one room. Some cats were visibly stressed, and I noticed both kittens hissing & swiping at other cats on separate occasions. As a cat owner myself, it did not seem like the kittens were being playful. Despite half the people present being children or teenagers, no staff members were present to make sure everyone was following the (rather simple) rules. It seemed there was only one staff member, who was responsible for everything, and seemed to have a lot to manage. I have been to another cat cafe prior, which was a much bigger place with less customers, more staff, and more space for the cats to escape to, so I was very disappointed by this experience. I will not be returning.

I have always loved Cats, in my house I have had kittens since I was 5 years old, I currently have a kitten who is 13 years old and is my pet, it has been a very nice experience that I had yesterday with you, however I thought I saw some sick some kittens; One couldn't open one eye, and two others had mucus in their nose. Please let a vet see them and let them eat, some of them are skinny. Thank you 😊

The experience was great. Cats are all lovely. I love Lemon and King Bondok. My daughter really had fun with the visit. Definitely, will come back again. :)

Rola and her team of amazing cats have the best cat cafe we have been to. There is an abundance of cats, all of them sweet, friendly, and clearly loved. If you’re anywhere near Auckland / Devonport, definitely pay a visit. We had the best time, and didn’t want to leave! Rola is also wonderful, and was so responsive to the many emails I sent in advance of our trip from Europe (our first time in NZ). Our visit to the Cat Castle Cat Cafe and Hotel was most definitely a highlight of our trip. (P.S. There’s no food for humans, but I gave “food” 5 stars because they had great beverages for humans included in the visit.). Special greetings to King Bondok, Lemon, and Chanel, who stole...
