A deplorable dining experience marked by disrespectful service.
McDonald's dispatched two orders to the same driver, evidently aware that the second recipient (myself) would receive chilled food. It's common sense that McDonald's should handle deliveries differently than dine-in orders.
Upon placing my order, McDonald's failed to inform me, prior to charging, that my delivery would be second in line. The driver traversed the entire city before reaching my location, despite my residing less than 10 minutes away. According to the receipt, the order was placed at 02:45 AM and delivered at 03:30 AM, an unnecessarily prolonged delay.
Observing the driver's circuitous route, I contacted him, expressing concern about the potential temperature of my food. The driver dismissed any responsibility, asserting it wasn't his fault. Seeking assistance from Uber, I encountered a chatbot with no real solution. Upon the driver's eventual arrival, he engaged in a heated argument, showing a lack of empathy and disregard for customer satisfaction. Despite my objection to his dismissive language, he remained unapologetic.
Upon opening the food, I discovered everything was cold. While my partner opted to microwave her meal due to hunger, I documented the temperature with photographs.
I implore you not to solely blame Uber, as McDonald's shares equal responsibility for the abysmal service, cold food, and insulting encounter:
McDonald's was cognizant that both orders were assigned to the same driver, inevitably resulting in the second customer's food being less hot than if delivered separately. McDonald's made no effort to improve packaging, given the anticipated delay. McDonald's neglected to inform customers, before charging, about the dual delivery and the consequent likelihood of receiving cold food. McDonald's exhibited no concern for the considerable distance between the two deliveries before dispatching them. McDonald's association with a service that permits insults and arguments reflects poorly on its commitment to customer satisfaction.
Ordering from McDonald's proved regrettable, leaving me with an unpleasant meal, feeling insulted, and subjected to a...
Read moreThis golden arches restaurant one of many is located in a food court. This one specifically resides inside Te Awa which is the indoor area of The Base Shopping Centre. Unfortunately I can not honestly review the food (does icecream count as food) as I've only eaten a meal there once or twice since it opened becsuse it was underwhelming and cooled quickly. I had to complain once which wasn't taken well at all.
However I can tell you about everything else such as the ice creams which are good albeit somewhat runny at times, they can he happy or begrudging annoyed to replace it/them but when it's working well... bliss. Often the ice cream machine is down when you need a sugary or treat, there's a conspiracy about how often a McDonalds ice cream is down. During the days of the pandemic alas ice cream in cones were not available but why I hear you ask? The cones were handled by hand...this was the reason I was given, but everything was handled by hand and not with gloves so maybe the ice cream machine just needed a break before it broke down again.
I miss the servers who brought on some days a welcomed smile and chat while in others days they should have stayed in bed. Either way they were so much better than the often broken down, not printing receipts, not taking cash self service screens which have a mathematical issue. My order is number one 120 but no the screen says it's 20. These self serve screens create chaos on any given day. Lines are non existent. The number of staff has reduced dramatically usually down to one person out the front doing everything and more often than not reluctantly.
Being in a food court does not generally offer a nice atmosphere. Bearable but very school cafeteria.
All in all I'll be back for the ice creams. I have an alternative plan in place if it is ever...
Read moreUsed to come here frequently for the odd coffee and muffin but it seems it has gone from a good clean service to a filthy service. Came on a sunday at about 4pm it was quiet we were the only ones in there and only 1 car was in the drive through, on first appearence it looked dirty there was rubbish and food on the floors tables wernt clean and flies were everywhere it wasent the occational fly here and there they were everywhere and when i went to take my child to the loo it was no wonder why! On top of the unclean messy resturant the toilets were shocking toilet paper and rubbish on the floor with wet puddles the sinks were so filthy i dont even know what that was and the FLIES! I did not want to set foot in there. When i went to alert the workers at the front till they said thanks for telling us i then said you also have flies walking all over those icecream cones wich had been sitting there since we walked in uncovered hopefully we didnt consume any fly excrement because thats what we ordered! They ignored the comment about the ice cream cones and there they stayed unattended uncovered for the duration of our stay and who knows how long after that. When we went to walk back to our table to wait for the toilets to be cleaned we heard the lady call out go and clean the toilets to wich the other ladys reply was oh na im not doing that! And then the lady said you can have a free creme egg mcflurry and then the person went to "clean" the toilets-she did not she just swept the stuff off the floor and left all the bacteria looking stuff that the flies were attracted to and all the other stuff on the floor in the resturant there. Dirty filthy unclean. You shohld not have to be bribed to clean the place its your job do it its a place of food you have to have...
