The Londoner — Restaurant in Hamilton

Really looked forward to going to the Londoner, as we often do - it being the 'main pub' that we support with our group of 8-10 others. Surprised when we ordered that an hour later there was no food, even though those coming in after us were being fed. In the interim, three requests for information got three 'coming soon' replies. After an hour an attempt to fob us off at the bar was made, before a vigorous request for our money back provoked an understanding that the Pub had made an error. Good management would have responded with perhaps an acknowledgement of the error and some sort of credit. Instead we got a justification as to why the pub had ignored us. First impression customer service is louzey , no table service for beverages prior to meal I had to physically go place the meal as no one was taking table orders wait time was 45 minutes with only a few people dinning in, meal when presented consisted of 1brocillie 1carrort slice 1cauliflower piece with watery gravy an a side of small chicken breast definitely not worth the $28 , we did get a refund but he was rather abrubt n rude an basically snatched the plate from Infront of my partner an left her sitting there stunned with no meal he later returned with cash n slapt on table saying sorry I can't help you just shocked that pride isn't taken in the serving of meals or portion sizes for price I will never eat here again or...

When you go to America, there is a sense of pride in the goods on offer, and keen competition. So you see signs outside letting you know they are The Best, The Original or The One and Only. Then in England there are pubs that have no such dreams. They know what they do, and its OK. You get signs outside that say things like "Food", just to let you know it is possible to eat there. The Londoner has captured the vibe of an English pub that sells Food, perfectly.
