Tasty middle eastern food, small portions and not welcoming initially but the service was ok after we placed our order. Staff was insisting we order more as it wasn't enough for all of us but we couldn't finish what we had ordered. Good location had to find parking.

This is a reply to the response to the owner who has responded to my review, Sir I differ from your response, Being a public holiday - Good Friday, I called you from Waitomo Caves at 12.30pm to confirm that your Resturant will be open, you mentioned that the kitchen will be closed at 2.30pm. we reached your resturant at about 2pm, you or your staff didn't welcome us with a smile- felt not welcoming, there were no other customers till the time we left at about 3pm and only 3 of you as staff including the owner were at the resturant. The moment we placed order you or your staff reiterated that your kitchen will be closing at 2.30pm and we cannot order anything after that. But immediately after placing two of the Mixed Turkish Shish Kebab platter, the staff said these are not sharing platter, but individual portion ($34 was very pricey for that portion) and we cannot serve you more after the kitchen closes at 2.30pm- so we ordered the 3rd portion of the same main (mixed Turkish Shish platter) at the same time- check your Camera, not after seeing the portion as you responded in your reply. But still realised that 3 portions were more than enough for four adults and two children. The only thing we reordered is two plates of Garlic butter bread as the two plates of bread we ordered was not enough (we expected that a platter of Shish Kebab comes with bread). Now after the children and the ladies finished eating it was the two men who had to stuff ourselves with the meat - as we didnt want to waste the food or take away as the lamb and the chicken kebabs were already dry- so taking it to Auckland and having it for dinner will make it even drier. We were full by the time we finished the food. Just because it was public holiday you or your staff didn't have to create an urgency to order more saying that the kitchen will be closed after certain time- which is not looking after or serving your customers well. Please advise your staff or if it's you- realise what happened and correct your self and don't repeat. Now the public reading this review will decide themselves to visit your resturant. I don't think anyone should go thorugh such experience. After your response as a owner I had to re- rate...
Read moreWe recently visited this charming Mediterranean restaurant in central Hamilton and were thoroughly impressed. The location is ideal, and there's plenty of outdoor seating, especially if you visit on a weekday — perfect for a relaxed meal in the fresh air. The food definitely lives up to the local hype. We tried a variety of dishes including the Sigaraborek, lamb sheesh, mezze platter, grilled fish, prawns, souvlaki wrap, and chicken sheesh. Every single dish was well-cooked, flavorful, and served promptly. Special shoutout to their house-made sauces and hummus – they offer different varieties, and each one is absolutely delicious. You can really taste the freshness and care in the preparation. The decor adds to the experience – warm, inviting, and stylish without being overdone. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to linger a little longer.
We’ll definitely be coming back, especially for the hummus and those standout sauces. Highly recommend if you're looking for authentic Mediterranean flavors in a...
Read moreMediterranean Kitchen is situated as part of a modern row of restaurants, but manages a lovely ambiance with colourful glass ceiling lamps, handcrafted plates on the walls, and copper water pots that I wanted to take home with me, but would have made my suitcase too heavy! We enjoyed a thoroughly delicious meal from start to finish. We chose a range of starters and then dessert. The prawns and calamari were cooked to perfection and the mixed platter was superb; and of course we ate too much Turkish bread and excellent dips (the tzatziki was a standout). The home-made Turkish delights were a favourite of mine, and a lovely way to finish off a really enjoyable meal. The staff were friendly, welcoming and enthusiastic about their restaurant’s menu (deservedly so). One last thing, try a Turkish pomegranate tea (tisane); my new favourite! 5 stars for an all round...
