I recently visited funzone, hoping for a fun session of classic and modern gaming with the family over the school holidays, but left feeling very let down.
The most glaring issue was at least half of the arcade games were marked as "Out of Order" or were clearly non-functional. This severely limited the already small pool of available entertainment.
Having to walk up to machine after machine only to find it broken is incredibly frustrating and makes the overall experience feel like a waste of time and money.
Furthermore, the range of games was quite limited. Even among the functioning units, there wasn't a great variety of prized machines.
I cannot recommend funzone for the arcade side of things. It's simply not worth the trip when you can only play a fraction of the games.
Would I return? No, not unless significant improvements are made with the maintenance and variety of the prized games because there is a competitor just...
Read moreReally bad experience. We used to come here all the time. But they just raised their prices on the video games by a huge margin. They didn't add any value to the games. There aren't any new or better games. They are just more expensive. And the cards don't really work too well. They often say "Processing" or something to that effect rather than just letting us play. Rip off.
The weirdest thing is that there really weren't that many people there. If they want to make more money, try bringing your prices back to normal. Im sure I would be less frustrated with the technical difficulties if they weren't charging our family $36 more than they used to for half an hour of play.
We used to buy 1.5 hours. This last time we just bought 30 minutes. And we won't be coming back until they show respect for their customers by not jacking up the prices without providing any...
Read moreThis review is based solely on the claw machines at this place. I play these types of games very frequently and can happily say although they involve some particular skill it mostly comes down to how often the machine is set to how often the claw grabs at full strength. When you have one machine set to "never full strength" or at least after $40 of consecutive play before I gave up, then you can't win. Also when the other 2 machines have small claws with toys far too big for the claw to grab then your odds of winning are absolute zero. This is what you call daylight robbery, fix your machines so they at least have a chance to give a win once in a while, I've never played a machine I can't win something in but this place is rigged to take your money with no...
