Golden Fortune Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Howick

We had a very bad experience with Golden Fortune. My kids and I came in 6:15pm. They took our orders after 30minutes which Is understandable because the restaurant were almost full. While waiting for our food, one of the servers asked us if we can leave and finish our dinner before 7:30. I asked her why and she said because there will be heaps of customers coming in. Of all the diners in the house I was the only one who was being told and asked so. Why? Because I am not Chinese looking who can’t speak your language? Such a discrimation! Besides, you should not accept customers without reservation especially when your restaurant is full. Obviously, we were not able to enjoy our meal. One more thing, my son asked the other server for water and she gave him 3 empty containers! What a nightmare! Won’t come...

The waitress, waiters and boss are very unfriendly, impolite and extremely rude. We booked 2 tables for dinner. But when we entered the boss did not think we have booked because they are busy. We found the proof written by his staff. He has no choice and let us to sit. He then kept saying no order will be taken because they are busy and also said even we ordered, they will not produce to us until a lot later. We said we don’t mind to wait but just want to make order first. His response is always rude and impolite.

When we argue, he used foul language. Very rubbish restaurant and very bad service.

I will not go to this rubbish...

Terribly difficult to communicate with the staff. Tried placing a takeaway order via phone, and I gave up with frustration trying to explain what I wanted from their own menu. Then I placed an order and paid online using their online order system. Waited for 45 mins with no response. Went to the restaurant only to find that they forgot to process the order. The staff didn’t realise they had an online order system. Now another 30 mins wait till they scramble to make my order. Really is only catered for people who can speak their language.
