My husband and I had our Recent Wedding photo shoot taken here with our incredible photographer Lionel Tan. My husband and I were in a bit of a tough spot as we had opted to not have a Wedding reception venue due to the high case numbers of COVID recently.. We decided to approach Howick Historical Village and asked the lovely events coordinator lady if she wouldn't mind if we used them as our photo shoot location. She was more than happy for us to do so and the booking of it all was very quick and efficient. She allowed us to have a good walk around beforehand and pick all of our potential photo spots. We were so lucky and on our day we had the beautiful sun make an appearance which really worked in our favour. Lionel took the most beautiful photos of my husband and I here at the Village. My husband does not show emotion easily and recently we received our Wedding photos which upon seeing them made him and I very emotional. The background of the houses looked absolutely incredible and it was the exact look we were after. Lionel also took beautiful ones of myself walking up the staircase which will now be used in the Bride and Groom magazine. Definitely worth 5 stars and more. Best location for Wedding photos if you are after the most picturesque background ever. Absolutely...

Truly one of the best experience I had ever get in Auckland 🙏

This historical village is telling you about the journey and process of European first settlement in Aotearoa. Starting from a humble thing as simple as a tent settlement, driven by unstable economy or eviction back at home, through the sea they voyage into a great new home while also hope.

Then, meeting their new neighbor, Maori. As european individuals without home and basically some of them unwanted on their homeland, the Maori helps them survive and adapt through any measure available on this new challenging place. Some true story of friendship probably born from here, the true companionship between human settlers who came from the northern hemisphere who met their cousin that already settled from long ago in southern hemisphere.

Truly, I couldn't tell you more through words, you just need too see and learn it by yourself (: The place isn't so far from the town center, also I love the staffs here! They're lovely, helpful, and greatly cheerful.. thank you guys 🙏

You could also chilling on their cafe just to buy coffee, tea, breakfast, or lunch, they had a great view to just chilling...

Visited few years ago but just realized today I can actually comment on this platform narrating my personal experience. This place is interesting enough to look around for a good few hours and experience many intriguing old things. However were not impressed by BOTH the manners of [a senior female staff at reception who dealt with me before my entry] and [a senior man doing the demonstration in the blacksmith workshop]. To be precise the lady was impatient and somewhat hasty in processing my ticket and the gentleman was really not very keen on answering my queries about what he was making, either. This place could have had 5 stars for all the interesting shows if the people working there were a bit friendlier and warmer and more welcoming towards ALL visitors. (Sorry to upset but I must express clearly my brutally honest opinion to be 100% true to myself and it is sad that for some people race still comes first in determining how to treat a person/customer.) Please bear in mind we did pay a price to get in. Thank you for your...

Lovely place to visit and spend family time. One of the most breathtaking spots in Aucklan, particularly on a sunny day. The view over the pond and of all the heritage buildings is truly hard to beat. Brilliant team of staff who care about their customers experience and put a lot of time and effort into making sure they have a great day out. Lots of fun activities for children and families. Big shout out to the education team who are genuinely the nicest bunch of people! The village has been a big part of my life and I look forward to my return visit! Definitely worth the trip to see it. There's also a fantastic (independent) café and site and the gift shop has a great range of gifts and interesting books.

Howick Historical Village is so interesting. It's a time capsule in a beautiful setting. I've been wanting to go for years, and I'm glad I finally did. I enjoyed walking around the old buildings, looking at props from a bygone era, imagining what life may have been like then. They have a lovely little café on site. I have to say that I'm very grateful for being born in this era 😁 There is good parking. Almost everything is level, so it makes for a good walk. One tip: try and go on weekends. Weekdays are often for school trips, which means it's overrun with children, clamouring on everything, going beyond the ropes, pushing and shoving past you inside the buildings, without any regard.
