Indian Sapphire Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in Howick

Second time we have had food from this restaurant, first time we picked up, second time we had delivered. On one site they use it says free delivery over $35.00...but that site didn't function but our bill was $85.00. We were charged a delivery fee as well as a surcharge for paying online with our credit card. We have retail, we don't charge our customers a surcharge for paying using a card. I find that really unprofessional and cheap. Man, if I couldn't accept credit cards I would be out of business. Plus, the time saved by your customers doing all the work online is worth the surcharge? Last time I eat your food, there is not a shortage of good Indian around, don't nickle and dime...

My partner and 2 children came here for my daughters birthday and it was the best curry we have all had in our entire lives and let me tell you when we have had our fair share of curries ! The staff were unbelievably exceptional went above and beyond even without our knowledge went out and got my daughter a cake to celebrate her birthday it was honestly the most beautiful evening we had everpeinced . We tried to leave a tip but they refused. Wish they wud have let us we are still bussing about how delicious the food was and how the staff were. Will most definitely be recommending to everybody you have to visit this place ...

Food was just ok. But two main reasons for this feedback: even when asked for receipt, the cashier reluctantly only gave me a copy of the eftpos receipt and not the receipt that would show the prices we were charged. We were overcharged by about 10 dollars. Not a big deal. But then when asked to pack our leftovers, they packed only a spoonful of the huge quantity of rice we couldn't finish. Which means the rest of the rice were served to the next diners. Were we served food from the diners before us? Sorry, but we won't...
