Although this place may receive high scores from most people, my personal experience was extremely unpleasant. I placed an order in-store and was informed that it would take 10 minutes to prepare, only to then be told upon my return from walking my dog that I would need to wait an additional 20 minutes. Unfortunately, I had no choice but to wait.
To my disappointment, the pizza I received was burnt. When I called the store to address the issue, I was shocked to be told that some people prefer it slightly burnt (If only I recorded this appalling phone call). After requesting a replacement, I was informed it would be ready in 10 minutes and confirmed my toppings twice. However, when I arrived at the store, I was told that my pizza hadn't been made because they didn't remember what I had ordered. I received a refund, but only after insisting upon it, and was given a coupon for a future visit without any apology.
Based on my experience, I will never go to this...
Read moreI've always had the usual pepperoni wheel and garlic knots at any Sal's that I go to. Almost everyday I had a piping hot Pep-wheel and knots in Parnell and was never dissatisfied. However every time I've ordered the same order here, the pepperoni wheel is always cold in the middle. I don't know if it's because they hadn't heated it long enough or didn't cut it well enough for the heat to get in the middle. I've mentioned several times now when I order if I could have it heated a bit longer because it's always cold in the middle, but even then it still is cold. I don't want to have to ask for it to be hot every time I go, I always feel like i'm being picky to the staff. It should be hot in the first place. So I'm posting here simply so that you guys could do something about making them DELICIOUS cold pepperoni...
Read moreHands down best customer service I've ever experienced full stop.
Me and my girlfrend headed down to pick up a pizza for dinner and while waiting a lady and her 2 little kids came in also. She ordered a half pizza and was about to pay when she realised she had forgotten her wallet, (me trying to do my good deed for the day) offered to pay for her pizza. As I went to go pay, the guy behind the counter said "well if you're doing a good deed I may as well too" and payed for both of our pizzas and chucked in a few garlic knots too!
Now Howick is a pretty nice place in terms of customer service, and most places treat their customers very well, but nothing compares to what happened tonight. That's the kind of thing I wish I saw more of, the team at sals all deserve a crazy pay rise. Well...
