Union Bakery — Restaurant in Howick

Not my first time and the pies were better. However, today, they're filled with gravy than the ingredients it should have. Had the fish pie and there's some pieces of fish but it was quite fishy taste and other than fish, just gravy. Hmmmmm... I think you guys gotta go St Heliers and the pie shop there that sell fish pie and see how far off you are off the mark. Also had blue cheese and steak. About 3.5 pieces of steak but mostly gravy again. Not sure if chef has woken from their new year break or the shop isn't up to speed yet. Further I ordered a curry roll only to find out you gave me a spring roll instead!! How can you get the order wrong! Visited this lovely place first time yesterday and all I can say is WOW!! Trust me when I say this but you aren't going to get any better service than this little bakery out here at Howick.

The bakery is quaint and serves a large variety of pastries ranging from classics from back in the days to some new modem twists such as blue cheese steak pie (flipping amazing by the way).

The place is all family run and you really do feel the warm hospitality that NZ is known for here. Even though I was only there for some pies, I was looked after really well by both Jenny(who made amazing coffee) and Calvin(he makes the pies!!)

Don't let me do all the talking and give it a go for yourselves! You won't be disappointed and will surely be leaving...

I just witnessed a Customer frustration trying to punch pin number in your EFTPOS machine. He was shaky and couldn't so this Customer felt embarrassed and left without what ordered. PLEASE SWAP AND USE A TOUCH SCREEN EFTPOS MACHINE, even me without any shaking conditions I found hard to punch pin number in your machine, too close one each other, not user friendly at all.
