This store is truly a hidden gem of New Zealand! On our last day in the country, we had the pleasure of meeting the kindest person of our entire trip here. The host was incredibly patient and friendly, sharing fascinating insights about bees and the story behind the local honey. Every detail was so thoughtful and genuine. I highly recommend spending some time appreciating the cozy setup of the store, the photos and historical stories on the walls, and the heartfelt text on the packaging. Every product reflects the care and dedication behind it. Even during our short visit, we could feel the passion and love that went into everything here. I hope more people discover this place, stop by for a cup of coffee, grab a jar of honey, or simply say Hi.

What a lovely little cafe/shop! Just as the afternoon slump was starting to kick in, we found this awesome wee coffee spot. I had the honey iced coffee, which came topped with whipped cream drizzled with honey. It was super delicious. My partner got a caramel mocha which he enjoyed. While we waited for our coffees we browsed the selection of honey, creams, dry goods and bee pollen which all looked very nice. There was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and the cabinet food looked good.

Great coffee!! Now that important fact has been stated, the cafe itself is cute, they have loads of honey and bee related products (as the name suggests) and a decent selection of cabinet food. Staff were friendly and they have a few milk alternatives. (Why did I combine those two points in the same sentence?). Anyway, BeeBox is worth a visit if you're in Kaikoura!

Cute place, but the coffee definitions are a little off. Long black is served as an Americano, with way too much water - which is always a disappointment. I would suggest the barista Google ‘long black’,

My partner also reported that her flat white was a little weak.

BeeNox also serve in disposable cups only, which is hardly a positive for the environment. Even if they are compostable cups, there’s a lot of energy wasted in the production process of making all those...
