First timer there, husband did read the reviews before going, but thought we'd still give a small local business a fair go. NEVER AGAIN omg waited 1hr20 for our main, I ordered a chicken salad , NO Chicken salad leaves were brown and limpy disgusting really. Husband ordered a $39 steak , medium rare came back well done, the mash was lumpy . You would think paying $39 for a steak the quality would be acceptable...very disappointed. Never had a waitress or waiter come back not even once while eating to see how the food is or do we need another drink. Poor service I thought I'd learnt with the 1hr20 for mains but I ordered a cheesecake for dessert, I asked the wait time was told 5/10min.... 25min later I got up and walked out. I highly recommend DO NOT go to this Restaurant, wasn't just us complaining that night two tables beside us also we're disappointed. Sad really for a little gorgeous town ...they definitely need to step...

The interior and overall aesthetic of the venue was lovely, that's what drew us in for a casual afternoon bite to eat. However, the drinks order took some time to arrive. The arancini balls were okay but the pizza I ordered was inedible. The dough was raw and the cheese not even melted. I'm convinced it was store brought from the supermarket and then thrown into the oven for less than five minutes. My partners fish was overcooked and chewy. It was awful. I mentioned this to the waitress who cleared our plates, she didn't reply, took our plates and walked away slightly embarrassed. As we had to pay at the beginning and not after we finished I didn't get a chance to let the manager know and discuss a refund. Also may partner didn't want me to make a scene lol! Hoping this was just teething issues and things have sorted themselves out. Maybe a new chef is worth...

Went in for lunch with my husband and siblings. I ordered the blue cod and chips. The food was alright but I found a hair on my chip. I immediately took the plate and showed it to the waitress and her reaction was so disappointing. There was no apology and no acknowledgement and her attitude towards my feedback was rude. We then spoke to the manager and asked for a refund instead. Unfortunately they don’t do refund but instead offered to replace the fish instead, which we accepted. What was even more annoying was that when my husband spoke to her, she asked how big the hair was and said maybe next time show them the hair first, which I totally did. It’s so disappointing when an establishment has part timers like her tainting their reputations because of their lack of care for customers and...

While the restaurant's ambience was lovely and the staff provided good service, unfortunately, I cannot recommend the chicken dishes. The chicken nibbles 🍗 and the butter chicken pizza 🍕 had a distinctive odour that suggested the chicken wasn't fresh. We removed all the chicken from the pizza to have the pizza, lol 😆. Funny but not funny - The fries and salad were acceptable, although we found it odd that the salad was served on a flat plate rather than a salad bowl. Regrettably, would we come back to the restaurant - Sorry, not sorry, but we cannot, in good faith, recommend this restaurant.

A great spot with a fantastic view. It's a little way along from the main drag of Kaikoura, but that's kind of a good thing in my opinion. Just one fella on front of house and he was handling it well, not much conversation but efficient and helpful. We didn't go nuts with ordering food, just snacks to share - flat bread, calamari, fries and it was all good. The place itself is really cool, nicely fitted out and open. But for me, the most attractive feature was the view! Had a really lovely time.

We came here on a chilly day and this meal seriously hit the spot. The Marlborough steamed mussels were chef’s kiss — so fresh and flavourful, we enjoyed every bite. The seafood chowder was creamy, full of flavour and packed with ingredients, especially with that garlic toast — seriously comforting. And the beer battered fish & chips? On point. Crispy, tasty, and super satisfying. Everything just hit the spot. If you’re in Kaikōura and craving seafood, don’t miss this place!
