Have to change my review - sadly this place has gone way downhill, although the number of customers filling the cafe today might mean my experience was unique. From an undrinkable coffee (super bitter and my friend said hers was too), which they kindly replaced with a coffee that was even worse, to getting 2 poached eggs on Vogels gluten free cold toast (the butter didn't begin to melt). I will never go back, especially since they knew the 2nd coffee, neither of which I drank, was bad and charged me $8 anyway. They must have changed hands in the last year or two. So sad.
magine my surprise to find an amazing cafe in the middle of a greasy industrial area. Their coffee is superb (my friend's iced blended coffee came with whipped cream, a caramel popcorn piece, and a single, pretty, live flower, and the foam on my soy latte perfectly creamy), their glass cabinet sweet and savory treats divine in appearance. But the a la carte food, oh my. We were constantly interruping eachother to point out a new dish being taken to another customer's table, each absolute works of art. And, even though it was mid Saurday morning and a total blitzkrieg of customers, the staff were calm, helpful, and cool. I suppose the only issue is parking, so carpool with your mates when you go, and consider reservations....
Read moreHonestly really disappointed in our experience. We visit patch often, the food is good, but today was ridiculous. They lost our mothers day booking, but managed to find us a table. Took our order really quickly (awesome) and brought out our coffee quickly (also awesome)
Then, we sat with our 6 month old for 40 minutes waiting for our food. People who arrived 20 minutes after us, were served their food before we were. I asked after 20 minutes if our food was coming, and it still took 20 minutes to arrive.
The food was good, but my husband and I had to scoff everything down in 10 minutes to keep our son entertained as we had been there so long. I went to pay and provided the feedback that it was a long time to wait with a baby, as other people were served first. Instead of apologising, the staff member said that sometimes the tablets don't print out orders. Which, a) isn't my fault and should be fixed, and, b) isn't true, because our drink was on the same order and it arrived. Not one staff member checked on our table in 40 minutes to ask if we were waiting on anything.
My recommendation, absolutely avoid Patch on Mother's Day, our experience was crap and made our morning stressful. And maybe just avoid with kids in general, other cafes have been much smoother, more relaxing...
Read moreI usually love going to Patch but I was left feeling extremely disappointed today. While waiting in line to order coffees one of the staff members dropped a container of tomato sauce which splattered all over my clothing as well as my friends clothing and face. I work within hospitality and I understand that mistakes are made and accidents happen. However, my frustration lies in how the situation was handled. We were not only ignored after the fact but once the staff member had realized what she had dropped got on both of us she made a swift apology and handed us a single napkin. The staff member who was at the till not only acknowledged the situation but chuckled about it with a halfway apology. Where was the resolution? If this happened at my place of business not only would I have sincerely apologized for my mistake but I would have offered that person a free coffee or some form of acknowledgment to show them that I was trying to make the moment right for MY mistake. I am extremely disappointed with the poor service that I received on behalf of both staff members. If you make a mistake and you spill or drop something on another person or their clothing you resolve the situation, you don’t ignore it or have a...
