K Chicken Mount Wellington — Restaurant in Maungakiekie-Tāmaki

March 2024: First time trying this place which was recommended by a friend a few months ago but finally took my kids here. We all loved it! Spicy chicken on rice, seasoned chicken on rice & honey soy chicken on rice were all delicious! We all added rice cakes with honey soy sauce was the icing on the cake! Yummy! The coleslaw with rice was nice mix with the chicken. Portion size totally worth it. Service great & didnt take long to wait. Chicken fresh too! Tip: best to order the combo if you want fries as well but the chicken on rice with coleslaw was more than enough. Thanks so much for a delicious meal - better than KFC any day! 😍 Will be coming back for sure to try the other items...

Went on a Sunday night, and it was quite quiet which was nice. The menu is nice and simple and is cheaper compared to other Korean Chicken places in East Auckland. I had the DELICIOUS Soy Honey Garlic boneless (Highly recommend) and my Aunty got the Crispy Chicken on rice combo. The wait time was only around 10 minutes which is good. The portion sizes are GREAT! I got so much chicken and chips which I ended up having to pack to take home. They may be slightly understaffed as there often wasn’t anyone at the front counter and I could see that the lady taking my order was quite stressed. But nonetheless the service, food and atmosphere was great....

I got the soy honey chicken w/rice & slaw. It was the right amount of food for the right price. It was well cooked and given that it included rice & slaw, probably a healthier meal than KFC.

That said, I struggle a bit with the Korean Fried Chicken theme. It doesn't seem to be much different to Japanese chicken katsu so there's no differentiator as such.

Further when Americans talk about Korean Fried Chicken, they're referring to chicken without batter that's been double fried... Which is way different to what's served here in NZ

So the offering here is somewhat confusing. That said, it's an affordable meal with...
