Nelson Turkish Kebab House — Restaurant in Nelson

Hands down the best Turkish in the south island!! I lived in nelson over 7 years ago... this was my regular weekly takeaways, and I still crave and dream of it! I know live in Christchurch, lots of options but no one has come close to akbabas!!

My usual consists of a large chicken and falafel iskinder, chickens always juicy and fresh, the falafel are so fluffy and soft but still Crunchy on the outside and packed full of flavour! Salads are always fresh with the extra option of tabouli, yum!! The rice... omg it's almost the star of the dish I don't no what they put in it but its amazing!! All of this topped of with fresh delicious sauces and two types of hummus!! The service is amazing also, the owner?? (I think 🤔) is so lovely, welcoming and so easy to talk to!! I seriously recommend this amazing...

TOP PICK for Kebab!!!For 20 years this was the best Kebab in the South Island. It has slipped a little-not quite the mouth watering juiciness I remember.They were very busy though and still 9.la 9/9.5 out of 10. But very fast service and the staff managed to chat and cook at the same time. Most of the customer seemed to be Nelson locals so that tells you something. If that is a small I am glad I dont get a big. The big must feed 3 people lol. I really liked the guy/owner....

Have been here on and off over the past 10+ yrs. Love the food. Have dined in a few times. Very pleasant. Love the coffee. Kebabs have always been my fave to get. But I've tried everything on their menu and can't fault a thing. Eskander is a big meal and enjoy it hot. Vegetarian options I actually like and will indulge regularly. And if I'm having a sweet tooth attack I can satisfy that too. Lovely people. Great service....
