Organic Foods Nelson is an excellent place to shop if you prefer organic food. I particularly appreciate the fact that all the self-serve produce is labelled with country of origin, paper bags are always available and the staff are very helpful. During the pandemic the store insisted on customers wearing masks. I fully supported this policy and out of consideration to the staff and other customers will continue to wear a mask when shopping there. I imagine that there will be some people with compromised health who choose to buy organic food, so am quite happy to put up with the very slight discomfort of wearing a mask for the short time it takes to buy a few items. After 5 years of being a loyal customer, being exempt from wearing a mask, I still gave the shop owner her due respect by wearing a mask even though legally I am not required to.

I forgot the mask one day, and asked if they can spare me one, she reprimanded me, asked me "cover your nose properly, dont forget it next time, and do not to come back you are not happy".

Unbelievable that this is how a shop owner can treat a customer who spent thousands support their business over the years. Never going back again, nor would I recommend anyone to commit to buying from there.

I have been a regular customer of the Organic Shop since they opened. I very much appreciate their wide range of organic products and friendly service. This appreciation is certainly reflected in the vast majority of the reviews. A few reviewers don’t seem to understand that the COVID-19 pandemic is the most severe the world has ever seen.
