Unfortunately a very in happy customer!! This morning I bought a Chocolate Eclair from what used to be a regular spot for me to go to , I like supporting local bakeries . I do however have an expectation, like anyone else would .. that for the price you are paying that the product is fresh !!! I decided to cut into my “fresh baking “ only to find it had spots of green fluffy mould growing within , now normally I would be In a rush and just eat it as a whole .. but I wanted to treat my friend who’s leaving to the uk so we were going to share it and embarrassingly she was the one that found it . Thank goodness we did cut into it, as otherwise I would have eaten it ! ! Now the thing is , it’s bad enough to find mould in your fresh baking .. but the reaction of the business owner and manager is what has disappointed me the most ! I brought the product back in to show them , and they both got very defensive and blamed it on the new guy and that sometimes this can happen . Yes they did apologise, but it came across as almost sarcastic! The manager actuyally said to me , “what do you want me to do about it “?! She offered a replacement, however I asked for my money bake as I won’t ever be getting anything from there again .. considering the eclairs were still being sold in the cabinet !!! I also expressed my concern as I am pregnant and and if i hadn’t have checked the baking .. then I could have eaten it . The manager then went on to say “ maybe you shouldn’t eat out if you are pregnant “ !!!!! What about non pregnant people . Is it okay for them to consume MOULD !!! We should be able to trust our local bakeries !!!!! I hate to complain, but I felt so upset with how I was treated and as a customer we should be aware of what we might be exposed to ! Read moreI will not be back. After we were seated no server came to take our order until we asked. After that we noticed that the servers were not sanitising their hands between handling the order tablet, eftpos machine, clearing used dished and cleaning dirty tables, and serving food. When asked the manager replied that it “just wasn’t practical”. After my mother received her food, I could see mine sitting on the pass. She was halfway through when I had to ask about mine which came out cold. I asked to speak to the manager and could hear the manager snap to their server that she was too busy to deal with the customers. Instead another gentleman came to speak to me. I explained that I was aware that my dish was left sitting on the pass and was now cold, and I asked for a refund (by this stage my mother had nearly finished her meal). I was told that they do not do refunds, but they would remake the dish, so I asked for it to be remade. What came back was a reheated Eggs Benedict which was inedible as the poached eggs had made the bread soggy and the edges of the salmon and bread was crunchy (not in a good way). I left half the meal on the plate and mentioned to the gentleman who spoke to me initially that I would not be coming back to which he replied, “thank you for that”. When approached and asked for a refund the owner took it back to the chef who wiped it, placed it in a bag and told me I had to accept it. I would not and both him and the lady at the front counter became rude and abusive. Another customer asked to see, and when shown he decided he did not want to eat and took his family elsewhere. Chef became angrier, took the burger and told me to leave with no food and no burger. This was in front of many customers leaving both myself and my wife humiliated. I left it a few minutes and offered them a last chance to refund which the chef did while still yelling and being abusive to us both. Have eaten there in the past and enjoyed their food but be please be aware that if you have an issue with their food then they will refuse a refund, become abusive and leave you feeling humiliated.
