I left a negative review on Google, and then August Eatery traced from Google to my Instagram account.

I used my Google account to leave my review to August Cafe after Brunch on Sunday, 22 May 2022.

Then August Eatery traced to my Instagram account, and my Ins is a different account name from the Google account name. My Ins didn't @/mention August Eatery's Ins account at all.

August Eatery Ins account viewed my Ins Story, a thanks video to nice dinner, which is unrelated/untagged/unmentioned to August Eatery. I have the screenshot as evidence.

Not good food or service due to staff shortage on that Sunday brunch is still acceptable. But, your social media behavior is crazy and is more likely an invasion of privacy rights.

Don't do this kind of offensive social media behavior again to other customers or me.

I know you have so many excuses or explanations to defend your cafe.

But the truth is on that afternoon on Sunday 22 May 2022, August eatery not only received 1-star-Google-review from our table, but also a 2-star-Google-review from another table.

It explains everything.

Horrible Service +Very Salty Food + Overpriced Brunch Sunday afternoon, 22 May 2022

Horrible service: We arrived at 12:50pm and ordered at 13:15, our food were delivered at 13:45. Our neighbour table arrived at 13:20 and got their food at 13:40. Yes, late arrival table got earlier food delivered 😁 And waitress forgot our dissert! Very Good! No one gives us water until we ask for water. No one come to ask the dinning experience.

Salty Food: Omelette: cut into many pieces, some very salty, some not. Spaghetti: spaghetti stack all together, some spaghetti taste very hard, some very soft. Very salty, too. Soup of the day: split and...

Table of 5 where the waiter got 3/5 meals and drink orders wrong (maybe a suggestion to use a note pad to take orders?). Asked multiple times for updates on our drink orders and wasn’t until the third that we actually received what we originally ordered. Istanbul eggs were yummy although one meal order was completely buggered up so had to wait for 10 min to remake while the rest of us ate. It was a very windy day, but the froth off coffees being transported to another table was blown over us, burnt our skin and stained our clothes. No offer to help clean up and the waitress just walked past and looked at us…. Not the first time this happened to us though. Half of someone else’s meal ended up in our faces/ in our food about 10 min later. Lol. Suggest don’t seat people outside if it’s this windy as it’s a healthy and safety risk. There was a young family with a baby sitting next to us and if the wind was the other way then the consequences would have been a lot worse. No excuses. Quite possibly the worst service we have ever received and not usually one to complain. Offered to take our coffees off- pretty poor considering the horrific experience. Lots of other great cafes in the area with better staff and experiences- would recommend them over...

BEST WEEKEND BRUNCH IN WELLINGTON.

Actually this is probably the best brunch venue in all of Aotearoa.

We’ve frequented August numerous times. It’s consistent, delicious, gorgeous and relaxing. Everything you need on a Saturday morning. We usually decide on a Friday night and then wake early so we’re seated when they open at 8am. It’s worth an early morning rise!

The meals are huge! Generous portions with perfect flavours. The Istanbul eggs are our regular go-to, and they’re better than comparable dishes we’ve had when travelling the world with similar geo-cuisine. Sometimes we venture into other dishes and are always impressed, and most importantly deeply satisfied.

The staff here are lovely - the front of house are warm, friendly and manage expectations well when the restaurant is full. You have to walk through some of the kitchen to reach the bathrooms and the chef is never bothered, also smiley and chatty.

Today I noticed an unwell street person stumbling outside August. One of the staff came out and helped him. She didn’t need to; she’s busy serving paying customers. There was so much dignity and care in that moment it spoke volumes about the culture at August. The true meaning of...

Tucked next to the leafy and charming Wesley Methodist Church, this eatery is a delight. Bright, airy, and inviting, it’s the perfect spot for relaxed meals and unhurried conversations. With great vibes and warm service, it’s easy to see why it’s a favorite. The menu may be small, but it’s packed with crowd-pleasers. The steel-cut oats are pure comfort—full of texture from grains, seeds, and nuts, and topped with fresh, sweet fig slices. For something more filling, we had the eggs on toast with a side of avocado and bacon—simple, satisfying, and done just right. The coffee? Good enough to keep us coming back. Highly recommended!
