During our lunchtime stop in Rotorua, we were craving pizza. After checking Google Maps, we found a highly-rated Italian joint and decided to give it a try. The atmosphere was perfect – lively Italian music filled the air as we walked in. We decided to share three different pizzas: A classic four-cheese with ricotta, feta, parmesan, and mozzarella. A Capizzi loaded with pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, red onions, capsicum, and olives. An Ortolana featuring halloumi, roasted peppers, Kalamata olives, cherry tomatoes, pesto, and olive oil. The crust was the true delight , boasting a flawless crispiness and an irresistible satisfying crunch with every bite . My favourite was definitely the four-cheese, but the others were a tad too salty, probably due to the anchovies. A scoop of gelato was the perfect sweet ending to balance the flavours. Read moreWent as a group of five. Ended up with really unpleasant experienced and ridiculous service.
Firstly, no greeting, no invite for seating, like they don’t want to sell pizza at all.
Secondly, when we went into the restaurant a guy temped to stop us and told us that the $14.5 pizza is for takeaway only. Hehe, are you kidding me?
Lastly and what really pissed me off is, when I ordered a pizza with the guy, he told me that we can’t have the seat in the restaurant and I quote his word here “you can’t sit inside because you order only one pizza” I asked why and here’s the answer “you can order one pizza for each but you can’t order one pizza for five people. This is our policy”. What the heck was that?
P.S. One of us is in favor of pizza but rest are not a fan. We already had dinner but she insisted to have a pizza so we went there and one pizza is good enough...
Read moreI went here last night and specifically ordered a gluten free pizza. We even had a conversation about how the sauce may not properly stick to the dough with a GF base and I said that was fine. I ate the pizza put in front of me, and the sauce was behaving as described so I had no suspicions about them mixing up my order... until about two hours later when I was vomiting. They had clearly served me a completely gluten pizza – I've never reacted that badly from cross-contamination, so the only explanation is that I ate an entire wheat-based pizza, which I have never done since my coeliac diagnosis.
Your staff have to be much more careful in ensuring these mix ups don't happen. When I ordered I was the only one in the restaurant, so I am not buying the excuse that...
