Aucklanders here, visiting the town overnight before making our way to Gisborne. We came here on a whim thinking that the other Chinese restaurant called 'New Hong Kong restuarant' would be opened at 5pm Sunday evening, to our disappointment it wasn't... this Classic Oriental Food place was just around the corner and filled us up nicely for dinner. Really disappointed with self serve since last visit. No meat in fried rice or any of the other dishes including beef and black bean. Pretty much straight noodles, rice and veges unless you want fish bites, crab bites or won tons. Not worth $16 for an average size container. I know costs are rising but cutting meat out of pretty much...
