We booked for 6 adults and one child. Beautiful atmosphere, music and decor. Facilities were clean and really nice! Tables set out beautifully and the service was really good. We didnât have to wait long. We ordered: the carnivore (steak and ribs) which was nice and cooked well. The salad needed a dressing. The Kaimoana feast wasnât very nice at all. The pie wasnât very tasty. The prawns tasted like the ones from the supermarket just thawed out. The chicken Cesar salad was delicious! The coconut chicken was dry and tasteless. Maybe slicing the chicken into pieces would have made it less dry? The medium rare Sirloin and mushroom was undercooked and not very tasty. The chicken BLT Burger and fries was average and the fries were the best part of that meal. We prefer KFCâs hot wings to the Weka wings. My grandaughter enjoyed her burger and fries. Lastly, we ordered two jugs of coke. We had drunk half of the coke in one jug, when I noticed dirt inside the jug. I looked into my glass and saw things floating on top of my coke. I then, wiped the inside of the jug and it left some sort of dirt on my finger. The jug was dirty! We had drunk half the dirty coke. I took it up to the counter and asked the girl behind the bar if my jug was dirty. She shrugged her shoulders. Then I told her it was dirty! A young guy came forward and said he would bring out another jug. I told him we were leaving soon so he could just bring out half the jug. I told him we had already drunk most of the dirty coke. We paid $274 for that one night. We wonât...
Read moreWe booked for my son's 21st birthday dinner. There were 25-28 of us. The seating was ok and not what i expected due to the long table and a booth we got when we got there. The long ta le could fit us all and we were kind of squish tightly together which wasn't gonna work. We ended up having to get a other booth so we had more room around the long table. Which seems to satisfy everyone.
The service was amazing. To the young man that looked after us that night by himself. We commend you on your patience with dealing with all of us, it can't of been easy. But you were patience, compose and very calm in the face of a screaming child (who has autism), the many orders being thrown your way. And through it all you stayed calm and polite. Just wanted to thank you for your awesome and wonderful service. And for having the patience of a saint. Although might wanna tell whoever did the crispy prawns to make sure they drain the oil off before serving cos there were 2 of us who had this and there was excess oil underneath the prawns and when you bite into it more oil came out which was not what I expected to eat. The ribs were nice but maybe a use a little less sauce as a lot of us had the ribs we want ours with little less sauce instead of the rib swimming in it.
The other thing we had issues with was how hot it was in there. Have been here 3 times and honestly the heat in there can get uncomfortable Especially when told the lowest temp is 18 degrees and add in all the bodies in the restaurant just makes it more...
Read more4 of us popped in for dinner. WHAT A disappointment. Last time we went meals were a great portion well cooked and presented. Tonight the only thing that resembled our last visit was the garlic bread. I had sirloin steak medium rear and that was good and pepper sauce ample but very bland. There roast vegetables were well cooked but the ten cubes plus the little bit of withered soggy lettuce three cucumber slices doused in a tasteless white dressing was terrible value for $34. My wifeand mother had roast pork- cold cuts covered in a warm gravy, carrots and cauliflower were not roasted they were just blanched and 80 year old mother couldn't cut them letalone eat them. Potato and pumpkin were roasted and ok but a couple of cubes of didn't really make a good meal. The apple sauce was a cold minced apple not an apple sauce. My sister also ordered sirloin, medium, and it was but hers was very fatty her roast vegetable cubes and curry fries were very small kiddy portions, again no comparison to our previous visit 2 months ago. Desserts. Warning donuts are not donuts but balls of donut dough in cinnamon sugar. They were soggy and cold and very irregular in size from marble to small strawberry in size. 6 in total. Small scoop of ice cream and drizzle of chocolate over everything. The strudel was best value and tasted good but again small portion. With 1 drink each, bill was $197 ....
