Okay, so I popped in here on a whim, and it was actually pretty chill. It's a good spot if you need a bit of quiet. They switch up the art stuff they have on display, so you'd have to check their website to see what's happening. They've got a little library inside, which is cool, and some shops selling art, crafts, and jewelry. Plus, they had some really nice jade pieces. There's also a restaurant if you get hungry, and the food was decent and not too expensive. Honestly, I wasn't expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised. It's a nice place to wander around for a bit.

Nothing much to see, it was boring and the worker followed us around like a stalker (I make the assumption its because we are brown, mean while my pakeha friends are walking by unnoticed). Annoying and glad I didnt make a scene, because im that TYPE and THAT PERSON. Pataka has had some great years, please bring them back. Change workers or their bias of others and bring more ART! I have attached photos of the pieces I did like. 🥰

A good rainy day activity in Porirua. It's not big but it has style, space and coffee. We come in here with our toddler. There is a kids room with a variety of activities that he enjoys. There are always a couple of interesting exhibitions to look at. And then you can get good coffee and cake in the cafe. The library is attached so when you run out of stuff to do you can head in there and keep the party going.

Pataka Art + Museum is a true cultural gem and a must-visit destination. I can't speak highly enough about the enriching and immersive experience it offers.

The museum's diverse collection of art and exhibitions showcases both local and international talent, making it a hub for creativity and inspiration. It's a place where you can explore different artistic mediums, from painting and sculpture to digital art and more. The ever-changing exhibits mean there's always something new and exciting to discover.

The museum's commitment to showcasing indigenous Maori art and culture is truly commendable. It provides a platform to learn about the rich history and traditions of the Maori people, fostering a deeper appreciation for New Zealand's heritage.

The staff at Pataka are not only knowledgeable but also incredibly welcoming and passionate about the museum's mission. Their dedication to sharing the stories behind the art and guiding visitors through the exhibitions enhances the overall experience.

The facility itself is well-maintained, and the architecture is a work of art in itself. It offers a serene and contemplative atmosphere that allows you to fully absorb the beauty of the artwork.

Pataka Art + Museum is a place where you can connect with art, history, and culture on a profound level. It's a gem that enriches the community and is a must-visit for locals and tourists alike. I can't...

Took my 99 year Mother here today for lunch. She loved sitting and admiring the Japanese Garden. We two spent just north of $64.00 on our food and drinks. My elderly parent couldn't finish her sweet treat so wanted to take it home to have with her evening cup of tea. I asked for paper bag to put it in and was told that it would cost an additional 20cents. After having just spent $64.00 I was not willing to pay for a small paper bag. As luck would have it there were plenty of serviettes out to use instead 🤣 🤣🤣 PS the...
