Workers are usually very nice and welcoming. During my visit I was approached by a worker while I was taking a break on my phone on the machine like many other do, when you might be feeling a bit overwhelmed or tired.
He touches my shoulder and asked how many sets I was doing. Bit startled I say one. (Before this I had already done 2-3 sets already, I also was not rude land was more than happy to give them the machine)
He continues to say âWell youâve been on your phone the whole time and we wanted to use itâ * in a condescending tone like what i was doing was wrong*
I am now so embarrassed because he has two boys watching this situation. There was also another machine open in front of me that the only difference between the machines was the other one was elevated.
I would like to say the only problem I had was when he made the comment about me on my phone. I pay to be here and if I want to take a break because I feel a bit overwhelmed I will. I felt like he was trying to make me into an example. And do not touch people to get their attention, not everyone is comfortable with strangers touching them.
It was also the tone and unnecessary comment. I was minding my own business and already had told him how many sets I was doing. Some people may feel overwhelmed over noises, or get nervous to where they might need to take a break. Also, it wasnât like I was the ONLY person on their phone. I feel uncomfortable and unwelcomed. For a âFitness and Wellness centreâ this behaviour doesnât promote a healthy and friendly environment. Other than that staff are fine and...
Read moreIf you're intending to do group fitness classes, this has gone from a great gym, to a dumpster fire. The weights are absolutely embarrassing, cheap nasty plastic ones with cement powder in them. Well, when I say in them, a good many of the weights now leak powder all over the place. The risers for the steps are cracking. Many of the weight bars are bent. Management actively ignores any requests from the members, so there is little to no point complaining, as you get a reply that is absolute nonsense and is summed up by "we're not changing anything". If you continue to complain, you will be told "cancel your membership then". If only I was kidding. They appear to have a severe staff retention problem, with nearly all their experienced instructors having left. Interestingly, most of them leaving to the common theme of "unprofessional management, all the way to the top".
Edit to previous, quite a lot later: still no improvements. Weights are shoddy, timetable and staff retention management just goes from bad to worse. Rather depressing seeing a couple of managers basically running what was allegedly the flagship of the chain into the ground, and ignoring...

Every day my friend need to wait for 20 mins during staff hr (5:15PM,6:15PM and 7pm) just to get her IN as staff are not around all the time, that are hiding bell as well during this time. My friend kindly requested one staff who appeared after 20min very kindly and trying to explain her situation leaving her 4 years son at friends place just to use gym for MENTAL and PHYSICAL health.
