Starbucks Lower Hutt — Restaurant in North Island

So I’ve recently discovered I can get flavoured coffee from Starbucks without the actual sugar and an alternative instead. Tho team are always so helpful and friendly. Insulin resistance is such a pain when trying to order at most places, and sometimes I feel like people think I’m being picky which can be embarrassing when I have to ask to see the ingredients in the plant based milks (lots of hidden ingredients can spike my insulin)etc (I can’t have added sugar or corn syrup, rice syrup, rice flour etc). Although I can’t have their plant based milks because of added sugar the Vanilla Latte with 2 equal sweeteners is always made to perfection here at the Lower Hutt store. The staff are always friendly and helpful, and quick! I definitely recommend this coffee shop. To those with insulin problems the options I have for the flavours are Vanilla, Caramel, or Hazelnut syrup.., then they can add the equal sugar alternative which I get 2 packets if it’s a VT. i’m not a person to leave reviews but honestly the service was terrible. when i started ordering the rude lady cut me off mid sentence to ask for a name and when i tried to continue ordering because i didn’t know whether or not she just thought i was getting the one item she rudely cut me off again “CAN I GET A NAME”. keep in mind they weren’t busy and there was no reason for her to speak to me like that. the coffee i got was burnt and couldn’t taste the vanilla whatsoever to the point i don’t think she put any in. i am also a barista and i get it’s not always easy but i would NEVER speak to a customer like that and i will not be going back. save your money and go...

Coming to Starbucks for my morning hit of coffee and sugar is the best way to start my day. I go out of my way almost every morning to have this delicious treat. I am especially loving the Christmas menu right now. It's exciting to have new options to choose from. The ladies are so lovely and usually remember my name and sometimes my order (although I like to change it up often). They have great customer service; they must serve so many people every day but they make every customer feel like they're welcome and at home in the store.
