Zest Bakery & Cafe — Restaurant in North Island

We had booked a table for mothers day to treat mum. Stressed looking staff except for the lovely gentleman making hot drinks. The meals were average, my salad was very dissapointing with very few ingredients. We knew we would need to wait for food but got quite disgruntled when people who came in well after us all got their food before us. A waitress bought some food to our table and when she realised it wasnt ours went back to talk to what looked like the manager. A discussion took place between them and it looked like we had been forgotten. We ate 1 and a 1/2 hours after ordering. Was disspointing as we had followed a recommendation to dine here and mum wasnt that happy...

Called in Friday,and young guy there,took forever to bring our hot drinks,Luke warm,ask where our muffins were he brought my friends one.i ask where my one was,his reply was You didn't order one. Yes I did with my hot drink. Proceeded to say in only ordered hot drink. And said I didn't charge for it. So I paid and ask for it again,then told him maybe he should be listening to the customer,as also having had a cafe this is not good. He then turned to me and said "Stuff off We had just been deciding whether to give this cafe another chance for or team of 15 for monthly coffee's again,well we soon made up our mind quick smart. Food plays a big part in our whānau as it not only links to what we eat but it connects us with the people when we share a meal together. I have been to many restaurants and this would have to be the best. The meal prepared for us was absolutely beautiful and is a testament of all those qualities we want in a meal that ignites conversation, laughter and more importantly, whānau ties.
