Columbus Coffee — Restaurant in Otago

Absolutely disgusting, worst Columbus Cafe we've been too. Sausage roll pastry was soggy, spoke to waitress to be told it is heated in microwave then oven normally, we questioned why it was soggy and was asked is it hot enough when we hadn't even cut it open then waitress walked away so apparently if its hot enough doesn't matter if its not crunchy???. Iced coffee main ingredient missing....the coffee. Scottish bacon and egg bap all that could be tasted was sweet chilli sauce. Service was poor. Used to be a great Cafe dont think we will try again was disappointed last time as well, we never even got what we ordered and paid...

I used to love coming to this place. This time the staff appeared to be frazzled. Unfortunately after a water spillage on the table we asked for a cloth or napkin to clean it up ourselves. We were told a staff member would clean it up. The staff member came over to the table with a soaking wet cloth and barely wiped the table down leaving the table surface far wetter than originally. You got the feeling she didn't want to be there, was not customer service focused at all. It is a nice cafe and is humming most days. It is beautiful to sit down and explore the surroundings that's full of plants, sheds and pots e.t.c at Mitre 10. The kitchen was closed unfortunately when we arrived. Ordered two small lattes in glasses and a piece of baking with breakfast rosti. Lattes were served in massive cups. It was like drinking 500ml of milk. Didn't enjoy super diluted coffees. The baking was spot on. The rosti was crunchy, egg runny and bacon perfect.
