Nice environment but had too many unused sweet machines lying around. The service was alright , they took too long to serve our meal. The food was absolutely trash. We ordered fried rice and it was absolutely salty. We also ordered a steak and chips meal and asked for the steak to be medium rare . They served the steak pretty much raw and when I asked them to cook it to medium rare they returned it to me practically burnt so I took it home for the dog. We also ordered a Thai dish called ‘Som tum’, all I’ve got to say about that one is don’t put something on the menu you don’t even know how to make , it was so bad. We also ordered a bubble tea and they forgot to put the little balls inside and when I asked them to put it in they said they didn’t have any and that they had told me this while I was ordering . . . they lied, they didn’t tell me there were no balls left . The only yum thing about our meal was the canned no sugar coke . Staff seemed clueless with their jobs and were using their mobile phones in front of the customers. Will not be returning . That was a...

The staff was extremely rude showing signs that they were clearly not taught any manners when speaking to a customer on the phone. They pressured us to hasten our order when we just needed a few seconds to clarify something, demonstrating that they definitely do not have good staff management if one staff member is struggling to wait for a second or two. Even if they are in a hurry, they should not be condescending and speak in a calm and friendly manner. Additionally, even if some of the staff were on leave for the holidays and the others were feeling stressed by the amount of workers left, it gives them no right to be hostile and people like that would not be able to survive in this industry with that disgusting and horrible attitude. Furthermore, the owner/the person who hired them is also to be blamed for not setting standards for the staff and for allowing them to have a superiority complex when speaking to customers. In all honesty, we were looking forward to eating their food but we would rather be treated right than enjoy the food made by people who are vile...

The Hunua Eatery offers a convenient stop for coffee or breakfast, but my recent visit left me underwhelmed. I ordered coffee and a keto breakfast, and while both were passable, they fell firmly into the "average" category. Neither stood out in terms of taste or quality, especially when compared to other keto options available in the Pukekohe and Papakura region. The overall experience was further dampened by the appearance of the cabinet food options, which didn’t seem particularly fresh, and the tables, which were a bit greasy. These factors gave the impression of a lack of attention to cleanliness and presentation, which detracted from the otherwise pleasant atmosphere. On the positive side, the women at the counter was polite and welcoming, which was a redeeming feature of the visit. While The Hunua Eatery might suffice for a quick coffee or meal, those looking for high-quality keto options or a standout café experience might find better alternatives in the...

Environment... My initial impression was pretty good till I try to have my coffee and cookies. Coffee (Americano) was rather weak but I can accept this standard as it has been challenging to find real premium coffee. The cookies are excessively sweet and just not too sure if the other desserts are the same sugary sweet... Anyway, the things that bothered me was the loud trashy music and staff at counter are a little loud. Plus the high ceiling and hards walls, the acoustic are not helpful for a peaceful moment with my coffee. This is just my personal preference when I drink my coffee.

Cute little spot. Nice decor. I had the Assorted mushrooms dish. Toasted ciabatta pieces could be bigger and presentation a little better but overall a tasty dish. Also got the Buttermilk Berry Panckes, they were nice, thought it would be a stack, but it was 2 thick pancakes with passionfruit curd & wild berry compote. Beautiful presentation. The Choco Loco Freak Shake was bomb. We asked for a shot of coffee in it. The brownie that came on top was to die for. My mate had the hashbrown stack. She enjoyed it. An overall pleasant experience. Will be back to try other items on the menu.
