My fiance and I went to this restaurant one evening as we both had finished work. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by what had happened to be the owner of the establishment. We were told to sit anywhere in the restaurant as there were a lot of tables. As we sat down, we were greeted by one of the wait staff who had asked us what we wanted to order. We asked the waitress to give us about 5 minutes as we hadn't decided on what we wanted to order yet. After the 5 minutes had passed we were ready to order. We tried several attempts to call over the waitress to take our order but we were ignored. I had to go over to the waitress myself so she could come over to our table to take our order. When we finally placed our order it took about 40 minutes to receive our meals. This was crazy as it was quiet and there was only one other table with a small group of people in the entire restaurant. When our meals had finally arrived, it was not great at all. I had never seen a vegetarian pad thai look so terrible in my life. The taste was bland and had no authentic flavour to it. My finances meal was not great either. We both decided that it would be our first and last time going there. Would not recommend this...
Read moreI have let my brain cooled down, so I can write a calm and honest review, it was hot and the place was full, I understand that it was bit more busy than usual and that probably the main reason why we had the following problems:
We waited for an hour for our food. I didn't have the cutlets until I asked, table service was so so, we didn't even bother to ask for napkins. During our wait, we saw they were serving takeaway order, to be perfectly honest, they should have not accepted the takeaway order because there were people in the restaurant been waiting for their food and we were committed to the place already. The guy who order the takeaway food could have gone somewhere else and we couldn't. Reminds me an ex-Malaysian restaurant in Papakura a few years back had the same problem and now they are closed up shop. When our food was served, they served the wrong food. My food was too oily, and the other plate was too salty.
Again, above issues could be due to the night being...
Read moreWe dined in at The Emerald Thai Restaurant as we had a post Christmas hankering for Thai food and our preferred place in Conifer Grove wasn’t open so this ended up being a wonderful alternative. Upon arrival as well as on the phone making a reservation, staff was very attentive and friendly and we were served promptly with BYO glasses.
For entrees we enjoyed mixed entrees of chicken garee puff, vegetarian spring roll, money bag, prawn toast and chicken satay with sweet chilli sauce and these were delicious, to expectation and delivered efficiently.
Following on, our mains consisted of a shared pineapple Thai fried rice (Khao Pad Saporad) with chicken larb, Yum Talay Thai hot seafood salad and pepper chicken sizzling plate. Our mains were absolutely delicious and most satisfying.
To finish off we enjoyed banana fritters with scoped trio of ice cream of chocolate brownie, strawberry and goody gum drops and the dessert was a beautiful end to the meal. Highly...
