Little Tokyo Sushi — Restaurant in Papakura

Unsure if it was a once off, but decided to try somewhere different and this place seemed to have 'good reviews'. It was absolutely horrendous. I ordered Chicken Yaki Soba and got 6pieces of simple sushi from the display cabinet @ $1.50 per piece. I failed to check the price of the noodles but imagine my surprise when I went to pay at the counter and it was $30 for the noodles and 6 pieces of sushi. I paid and left because I thought 'must have good quality/fresh ingredients and worth the money'. Incorrect. The noodles were in the smallest bowl (I would say slightly larger than a chip cup)and the bowl was HALF full. The noodles were dry fried with what seems like only water, not even a drop of soy sauce - zero flavoring, and a couple of pieces of cabbage. The kicker....NO CHICKEN. Looking at previous posters, my food looked NOTHING like theyve shown. The pieces of sushi tasted far from fresh, potentially reused. I would NOT reccomend this place when there are a number of other japanese establishments in the area who are reasonably priced, have fresh ingredients and are a decent...

Have been coming to this place for about 8 years...still has the best chilli chicken donburi in the whole of South Auckland. I actually tried this place for the first time many years ago when my cousin lived above the restaurant. Since then I would visit this place whenever I'm in Auckland. Since moving here a year ago I frequent this place and its consistent and not much has changed....

Great service and hospitality! Food was on point and presentation superior to most local restaurants and cafes. Very humble owner's who deserve respect and patronage. Lucky to have such a secret little sushi bar in Kura like this. Something you may find in the back streets of Japan any...
