Okay, this is me being 100% honest. We have been to many cafes in Auckland, from the North Shore out in the West, East, and South. But if I have to pick my favourite, it would have to be 602 Brew café. Scotty orders his coffee beans, and I don’t know what his secret is, but his coffee is so smooth, consistently never burnt, and the last sip is as good as the first! How can this be? I am sure coffee lovers would agree that it’s hard to find a place like this.
But it’s not just the coffee - fresh sausage rolls and donuts sold on Saturday mornings are absolutely amazing. I was never a fan of sausage rolls until I tried one at Scotty’s café. And you have to try the bite-size brownies too! These may seem like an average selection of pastries, but when I tried them, I had to just pause for a moment to ask myself - wait, what did I just have? How can brownies/rolls taste like this?! Pastries at 602 Brew go beyond your expectations of what average desserts can taste like and certainly raise the bar for other dessert places.
Just to add a bit more, the owner Scotty is a kind-hearted person who genuinely cares about his customers and the community.
It’s no surprise that the queue becomes longer and longer each week and either my wife or I always have to run to save a place while the other finds parking by the street.
