Really disappointed with this gymnasium. Teachers are extremely partial and spend predominantly all their time coaching and perfecting kids at a higher level in a mixed ability class, paying significantly more attention to children who have done gymnastics from a young age or are naturally gifted. Little time or coaching is provided to those who are struggling with basic skills or new to gymnastics with things like safe tumbling or developing balance on the beams. Many new kids in our circle of friends have been put off by this facility saying they won’t return or their child was left in tears during classes. The coaches don’t seem overly warm or welcoming which is very sad as not all kids will start their gymnastics journey at 3 and become super stars by 7. These kids are not naughty or not trying they just don’t know what they need to do to pull off a cartwheel or handstand. Teachers need to spend time trying to teach kids at all levels newcomer or not or have segregated classes that run at beginner intermediate and advanced levels. Feel like we have absolutely wasted our money and have little disheartened kids who don’t like the sport. It’s not good enough to be winning gold medals at the higher stages and getting great reviews from the superstars who stared at 1 when you are turning away other little ones who with some attention might have gone on to excel in this area who are otherwise being ignored in the lesson. Teacher ratio to students is not ideal either. Teachers focus on the gifted 3-4 kids the other 5-7 children aren’t doing anything in their class time. Really really disappointed. You guys need to coach the coaches - it’s not good enough that they know how to perform gymnastics, they need to know how to...
Read moreCoaches need to pay more attention to kids. There are times when kids are looking lost and waiting for coach to show the routine while coach is just watching other kid’s routine 2nd or third time. (watching not teaching).
But the reason I gave them 3 star is that my daughter was enrolled in the same class for 2 terms and 3rd term when I went to pay fees on first class I was informed that the class is full and she has to move to other class. No phone call or email to inform me that she has been removed. She missed her whole term of gymnastic and her friends. Very disappointed that they cannot roll over enrolments like other facilities (my daughter attends 4 other classes on other days and they all roll over). It does not take a lot to send an email or Phone call to check whether we still want to keep enrolment or cancel it. Instead they have ridiculous system to put you on waiting list. I say ridiculous because new students get enrolled while regular ones get put on waiting list never to eventuate into booking. Since it’s a local facility for us would like them to...
Read moreI've been having private coaching sessions with Misha for the last couple of months trying to learn some gymnastics skills. He's an amazing coach, creates amazing atmosphere and is very involved. Teaching adults (I'm almost 39 yo) is quite different to kids or even teenagers, so puts the effort into finding the right progressions for me. I feel that I have made huge progress in the things I want to learn (handstand hold, handstand walking and back flips), but there's still a lot for me to learn. I'm confident I'll get there with Misha's...
