Happy Chippy — Restaurant in South Island

Did. You. Seriously. Serve. This. To. Me? I just bought this 2fishes and wedges about an hour ago. We just finished Abel tasman track for 3days and wanted to have proper dinner but you totally ruined it. How could you do this? I have an experience to work in the shop only for chips before, so I know how bad quality of chips it is. It was completely burnt wedges. Fish was just “fine”. Not really “good”. I was really excited to have good fish n chips and was watching how you guys do with interest cuz I had experience. When I opened the package as soon as I arrived at campsite all of sudden I realized my package just popped out of nowhere before I noticed it in the shop even though I kept watching you guys. How did you do this to customer with smiley face? I got goosebumps now. So freaked out. Wow. Really just wow. It’s my first review on google. Thanks for amazing experience. You guys just faked me. I won’t say it’s racism but if you guys expected that I don’t know well about fish n chips just because I’m asian as well as traveller. You guys are totally wrong. This is one of the best Fish'n'Chip places to eat at. All the times that we have had the food from here it has been a delight to eat. I'm picky on my foods, this was not greasy, the chips tasted and looked good. (hard to get places that do great chips now) and the fish was a nice piece of fish, kind of thick (not a thin piece of fish and thick batter like most places do now days) and a reasonable size, (not 3 bites and it is all gone) the burger was lovely. During our 10 months of exploring the New Zealand and eating and trying fish and chips almost everywhere, these were not really good. The fish was quite tasty and good, but what really decreased the quality were chips. Soft, wet, not so crispy at all and in just 5 minutes on the beach cold. Also the price, we paid almost double the normal price for the food and the portion was quite small for that money, but I guess that’s because of the location… I think you there are another takeaways in Motueka worth trying, this one...
