Hands down this was the worst customer service my family and I have ever experienced at a KFC restaurant! We placed an order at the drive-thru and proceeded to the pick-up window. We realized that we forgot to request that no seasoning be added to our fries, so we tried to get the attention of the customer service agent at the payment/pick-up window but we were completely ignored (she looked up and didn't acknowledge us). When she finally came to the window to take our payment, we explained why we were trying to get her attention, she in turn told us that she was busy packing our order and taking other orders and that in future we need to just wait. We pointed out to her that we were waiting patiently, but that we were simply trying to get her attention prior to her packing our meals. She reiterated in a derogatory manner that she was busy and that we needed to just wait. We then asked to speak to the manager. The manager came to the window and was even more rude than her employee! She proceeded to tell us that she was watching our conversation and falsely accused me of having an intimidating look on my face while speaking to her employee. My husband and I were completely shocked. I spoke to her employee respectfully and I did not have an intimidating look on my face. (What would be the point of my doing that? I am always extremely careful when dealing with people who are handling my food.) I explained the situation to her again and it was obvious from her response that she was not empathetic to what I said and in fact she attempted to justify her employee repeatedly ignoring our attempts to get her attention. My husband and I looked at each other and in a split second decided to take our business elsewhere! We drove off! KFC Motueka,...
Read moreIf frustration were a seasoning, KFC Motueka would be the most well-seasoned establishment in Te Tau Ihu. My culinary endeavor began with what I can only describe as an Olympic-level exercise in patience, served with a side of bewilderment.
Upon entering, I was greeted by three blank self order screens and I failed to be greeted by staff who seem to view customer service as an optional extracurricular activity. After five minutes of waiting to be served I asked how do I order of the "manager" who looked at me with the enthusiasm of someone being asked to solve a complex quantum physics equation while simultaneously undergoing root canal surgery. "Ask him" he muttered, gesturing vaguely at a coworker who also proceeded to ignore me.
I stood at the counter for another few minutes while the worker in charge of taking orders continued to look through me. I was hopeful of ordering a fix of fried chicken. Spoiler alert: I would have had better luck spotting a taniwha riding a rainbow.
Forty minutes before closing time, I was told that the kitchen was closed and "rations" were limited. The server informed me of this with all the emotion of a government bureaucrat, "out of chicken." OUT OF CHICKEN. At a FRIED CHICKEN RESTAURANT. It was like visiting a library and being told they've run out of books. In conclusion, KFC Motueka is less a restaurant and more a performance art piece dedicated to the art of culinary disappointment. Come for the chicken, stay for the existential crisis, leave before they run out of everything except...
Read moreI never do Karen reviews... but this was the worst fast food experience I had in quite a while. So, there were 3 more people in front of me, plus 3 cars in the drive-in. It took more than 20 minutes for me to get the food. First of all, their system crashed or something and they had to do a full reboot, which took about 5 minutes. And it took them more than 15 minutes to serve the other 6 customers. How is that possible? I counted at least 5 staff members. Don't tell me it takes 15 minutes to prepare a sandwich, which you have pre-fried anyways. But it doesn't end here. The restaurant was pretty disgusting (see the photos of all available tables). All that takes to go from 1 to 2-3 stars is to mop the floor and clean the table once in a while. In the end, the food was OK, but the experience...
