What an amazing experience at Omarama Lodge! The place is beautiful, peaceful, and perfect for relaxing. Everything is well maintained, and the natural surroundings make it even more special. The kids had a fantastic time feeding the fish, eels, and ducks, and they also enjoyed the playground and traditional games. It’s an ideal spot for families, offering a welcoming and safe environment. The menu was varied, delicious, and reasonably priced. Every dish was well-prepared, and you can tell they use fresh, high-quality ingredients. On top of that, the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, always with a smile. We had a wonderful time, sipping a great glass of wine in such a charming setting. Without a doubt, this is a must-visit place, and we would return in a heartbeat. Omarama Lodge is a true hidden gem in New Zealand!

Really wonderful spot to stop for lunch driving to or from Mt Cook! We stopped with our toddler and loved spending time on the grounds stretching our legs. There is a wonderful playground (with a tractor) and a pond full of fish and ducks. The hostess even gave us some fish food to throw into the pond! The food itself was fresh, delicious, and plated beautifully. We loved the tempura broccoli and salmon sashimi. I would definitely return the next time I’m in the area for a longer visit!

The location was beautiful and they were open at 4pm which was great. We were unfortunately quite disappointed with the dishes we ordered. The chips were overcooked, too crispy and poor quality. The batter on the chicken was too thick and unpleasantly crunchy (both were supermarket standards). The fish was lovely and the staff were very friendly. If you’re looking for high quality food maybe steer away from ordering any of the fried dishes.

We just called in on a recommendation from our hosts at Top 10 Omarama. Omarama Lodge has only been opened for around 3 and a 1/2 weeks, but you wouldn't know it. It feels like it has it all sorted and are well and truly ready for the place to be be pumping. We sat outside on a warm day and the ample umbrella shade overlooking the large garden was really lovely. Table service for ordering of food (although we were able to order drinks at the bar) is always welcome instead of queuing at the counter (which is fine but I do like table service). The staff are friendly and happy to be of service. The small plates style of food belies the size of the plates coming out. Plenty of food to share. We had the curly fries with aioli (the curls were good to hook onto the aioli) along with a second belated order of OFC (Omarama Fried Chicken) with chipotle dipping sauce that we ordered during eating our fries. Delicious. All came out promptly, as well as our second order of drinks. So this review is possibly a bit longwinded, but want to get across how good this place is and to get the support to keep a good food establishment supported during these tough times. Carry on the great work Omarama Lodge, we look forward to...

Wow, this place is truly spectacular. The food is wonderful, small sharing plates with something for everyone. The buffalo cauliflower was a game changer, along with the salmon sashimi! You have to also make sure you leave room for a sweet treat after as the sticky date pudding was sensational. Although a restaurant isn’t always just about the food and the people here is what truly makes it a five star restaurant. From the phone call to make the booking, to the exceptional service throughout, to even feeding the trout in the lake with the owner before leaving this was truly a restaurant like no other and I recommend it to anyone going anywhere near Omarara, I promise it’s worth the drive! As tourists travelling around New Zealand I am genuinely upset I won’t be able to try this again soon but it will be the first stop...
