Bland and uninteresting food, service was poor, plate loaded with rice and very little curry - not worth the $10 for a plate. Asked for less rice, the assistant looked annoyed, took a spoonful off, then I asked to just put curry on rice instead of a plastic dish on plate alongside rice (seemed like a waste of plastic when I was sitting down to eat), he looked even more annoyed and frustrated, I apologised for being difficult but he didn't care and left after I paid. Picked up plate and ws so disappointed by the mess felt like I had ordered a $5 meal instead. The least he could have done was committed to presenting a decent meal when I was saving him costs on rice...
Read moreSorry but this place has been taken over many months ago. Despite trying most dishes it is not on par with good Indian food in nelson. The vindaloo beef is tough. the korma is taste-less. The butter chicken is far to sweet. the nan bread is dry and has no Gee. Far from fresh as seen by the 50 or so on a pile. We expect better. This is not the Way. I suggest you employ a good Indian cook. And try the Good Indian food in nelson that is made by the pros, people will wait for good bread it only takes a few mins Eh. Do better. I ordered the mango chicken with one piece of naan, as I watched the guy serve it up, he put 7 pieces of miserable sized chicken in the bowl, then proceeded to fill the rest up with mango soup! I told him I ordered mango chicken, not mango soup...he proceeded to scoop more soup in!! It cost $25.00 dollars which is a complete rip off and would discourage anyone from buying from them, at least until they improve their puny portion size.
