Sushi Ya Kaiapoi — Restaurant in South Island

I arrived on a Saturday at opening and they had a few items on display. I asked if they had any of the varieties not displayed and the very charming woman made them all fresh for me right there. Three large boxes with no problem and a happy smile. The sushi was delicious and I can’t praise the shop assistant enough for how pleasant she was dealing with my request so early in the morning....

I'll start my saying yes, it was delicious. Now that's out of the way here's the important points - small selection, not a lot to pick from, maybe I just came at the wrong time. A little expensive, for sushi, it's mostly rice. I got a tray of crispy chicken, a salmon roll and a rice ball - $20 But all tasty and actually their wasabi was very nice too, fresh I think, not...

I only heard bad things about their food, so I had to try it out myself and it was very dry and barely any flavour. The owner and staff are beyond rude when trying to order something. It felt like I was eating something that had been made a few days ago. There is another Sushi place in Kaiapoi only a 2 min drive away, I recommend anyone going...
