We went to Teppanyaki in Kaiapoi to celebrate our anniversary and it is really fantastic. The new experience made the whole dinner very memorable. The crew that greeted us are approachable and helpful. We choose Meat Teppanyaki meal which includes chicken, beef and pork with rice, spring roll plus a dessert. The whole meal is worth it plus the inclusiok of fun side of the fire 🔥 on your food. The food was cooked and taste well. The amount of food was enough and worth the price. Cleanliness was maintained properly because whenever there are food scraps on the floor, they will immediately cleaned it. I would definitely comeback for special occasions. Lastly, they have free parking which is something hard to find in the city. Overall I recommend this place to couple dates or as a family dinner. Thank you Takao Teppanyaki Staff. Good job.

The staff are friendly and with good manners the English is a bit basic which can lead to some uncertainty but nothing major. My advice is to let the chef know that you prefer to leave it up to you to handle the salt from your table as sometimes the food can be on the salty side especially having the soya sauce added as a garnish to the food. In general it's still a good place to enjoy in Kaiapoi and there's room for improvement.

This is a second time I try a Teppanyaki in NZ... The place has a good view on the second floor and is compact with small space. A group of 14 celebrated a birthday dinner.Great selection of menues to choose from & sitting around the hot plate watching the amazing chef doing his thing.As the evening progressed & the food was presented we all steadily became well satisfied with quantity & quality.A glass of wine was reasonably priced.The whole party were very satisfied with their meal. I would suggest that a couple of jugs of iced water & glasses be provided & I noticed when paying the bill that they recognised Super Gold Card holders but the catch was only from Sunday til Thursday.Will definitely return. PS The restaurant is up two flights of stairs & not sure if there is...
