Colonel Malone's Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in Taranaki

This was my regular, and now I can't warn enough people don't dine in this restaurant! We were seated and placed our orders in a timely manner but that's where things stopped going well. Our table of 5 people all ordered at the same time, 4 people were served and 1 was left to wait a further 10 mins for the order to be on the table. When the last meal arrived the vegetables were badly burned, the meal sent back to the kitchen, and was returned to be told my meal was "chargrilled" and this is how my vegetables are meant to be. I did not take the matter any further until shortly after I was approached by a lady she didn't say who she was, to explain how my meal was not over cooked. I then asked her to feel my broccoli as I wasn't going to be eating it and she refused, I scrunched it up the broccoli and crumbled it on to the empty plate in front of me to show her this isn't chargrilled it's burnt, a long with my huge chunk of carrot showing a solid black underside. I was not charged for the meal thankfully, but I had to pay for the rest of the table, the food was warm, the salad that comes with meals doesn't really exist. We ordered a variety of meals from the menu and none of the meals arrived hot, only the chips. The pub further down the road that looks creepy does way better food, just go there, it's cheaper but you won't be left...

Food not worth the wait! Went for lunch with three adults and two kids. Restaurant was not full and we were seated and served drinks quickly. When our order was taken I asked if the kids meals could come out sooner than the adults. The waitress said they did it all together. There was one large table next to us so we thought there may be a little wait, however we never expected it to take an hour for the food to get to us! The staff never once indicated that we would be waiting a long time for the food, had they done so we would have gone elsewhere. When the food arrived it was mediocre. Kids pizza inedible, medium rare steak was a thin slice of well done meat. Upon paying the staff member did apologise for the long wait but blamed it on the waitress being new. Not once did any of the more senior staff members come over to us and explain the wait time. From what we could see they were not run off their feet the kitchen is just incredibly slow. We could see into the kitchen from our table and one of the workers was seen sampling the food multiple times.they have far too many options on the menu making production slow. We will not...

After last times experience of cold meals and meals comings out at complete different times . we thought we would give malones a 2nd chance . unfortunately we had shocking service for the 2nd time in a month .waiter brought food out there were 5 chips on my plate , we asked for more chips to be put on then she just rolled her eyes at us . We had multiple burger meals brought out to us that werent what we had ordered and no apologies at all . No one came and checked on us and seen how our meals were and took about a good 45 mins for plates to be cleared after we had finished eating the staff were all just standing behind counter chatting away so was not like they were busy . We were going to get dessert but again after the waiter carry on we decided to go to z petrol station , this was a booking of 10 .
