Happy Chef — Restaurant in Upper Harbour

I’ve heard that the chef has changed recently, and it really shows — the quality of food is on a completely different level.

We had the Bulgogi meal set, handmade pork cutlet, spicy pork meal set, beef soup, and pork bone soup — and every dishes were absolutely delicious. The flavors were rich and well-balanced, not overly sweet, salty or spicy, but full of depth.

The portion sizes were just right, side dishes can be refilled for free, and the price is very reasonable compared to other Korean restaurants...

They have authentic and unique menu. We ordered the Beef Bone Soup (seollgatang) and Pork Sausage Soup (seundaegeuk). High quality meat, tender and thinly sliced. Hearty broth, my wife says it’s one of the best blood sausage she had. The seafood pancake was crispy with tender squid and shrimp. They gave us freshly cooked lotus roots. The other condiments were delicious, including the black bean tofu skin.

Worst of worst. Served with uncooked food. No apologies from the owner at all. Disgraced and disgusted in terms of their service and the owner’s attitudes towards customers. Used to be one of my fav restaurants in Auckland but turns out to be the worst now. Seriously the owner needs to learn how to listen to the feedbacks from customers. Never going to come back and will never recommend this place to...
