I have been coming here weekly however I'm not sure why the owner turned strange today .I rang the bell a few times but no one came out from the Motel . I got dressed to swim went into the hot pool and hour later he came to me while in the pool requesting I get out to pay he has done this 3x now instead of responding to the bell at the time when I waited before I got dressed . I have seen people leaving as no one came out .The pool has a fold up cover to keep the water warm overnight which covers 3/4 of the pool I folded it up and left it in the corner of the pool as we got in. An Asian woman appeared from behind the pool area and pointed to it and kinda indicating that I must take it out the pool..I told her it was too heavy she was muttering something in Korean and then tried to drag it out and then left it as it was way too heavy .i eventually did it with help if the disabled boy . I was here before when 4 of us were in this pool. We all moved this cover out as where would we sit if it was opened up in this pool . ? He told me to move a disabled boy so he can put the cover back in the pool I asked him why he wants to put it in the pool as we would sit ontop of each other especially if more people had to arrive .He could not even drag it into the pool it was so heavy He told me people have complained the water has not been hot enough and "this is a private establishment" and told me to get out he will refund me when I asked him why he is demanding this ? He -the owner screamed at me in front of a disabled child . I asked him why he is speaking to me in this manor as i am a paying client. He basically said if I don't do as he wants I can go He told me I should leave a few times . I said no! I have done nothing wrong and I'm a client and others do the same . I rolled one of the sides of the covers up after an hour which close the pools sides before he came over too. We were getting very hot in the pool so I rolled this up. The disabled boy's face was red and I could see he was uncomfortable I thought we were going to pass out . This is often rolled up by other clients yet he freaked out and he unrolled it as he spoke loudly and rudely . He told me it cost 20k and he is keeping the water warm if I'm overheating then I can leave . Nowhere does it state that this cannot be rolled up, it has zips so it's designed to be opened and closed . He was so rude , yet he never complains about the other clients who did the same or when clients showers for 30min at a time occupying both showers and I don't complain or the time me and my friend had a rash for 3 days because the chemicals were incorrectly measured and we had itchy and painful skin rash yet no one ever apologised on the phone .A few weeks ago we had the same issue with sore itchy skin another client complained to me but most people only use the saunas not the hot pools in the day so I really felt uncomfortable today as we just wanted a peaceful relaxing time . It takes a long time to upset me but this was a cruel and a rude manager .If you read the other reviews you will see im Not the only one who had a bad experience here . Sadly this is a lovely place if you are not a target for taking out his anger .I think I have paid more than the average person over the years and to treat a regular client this way was unnecessary and I had brought plenty of new clients here , but today we left feeling unhappy and the disabled boy was unsettled after being exposed to this for something I believe should not have been an issue or could have been dealt with In a decent or...
Read moreWe chose this place because it’s in the Northshore area and it made leaving early the next morning for Paihia a lot easier than leaving from the city center. ||However, finding this place is very difficult.||We arrived at night and our navigation system led us to the neighboring homes. It This unit is not on the actual street. We couldn’t even find a mailbox on the sidewalk for this address. ||This unit is hidden deep behind and it’s located at the rear end of a long driveway. Also, we couldn’t see any street marking or sign indicating that our unit was waaaaaay back and behind other homes. The management/owner didn’t notify us in the property description or email confirmation. ||After we finally found this place, we were confused because our address just said “16 Jade Court”, yet there are two units: 16A and 16B. We had no idea which was ours. We never received any information in our booking confirmation or property description.||Worse yet, we tried to use the key pad to gain entry but our given code didn’t work. We tried the code for both units, 16A and 16B. We kept looking at our booking confirmation on our phones to verify the code. My husband tried calling the manager/owner and left a message. In the meantime, we relentlessly kept trying the code for both units as we didn’t know which was ours. ||After about 10 minutes of trying the code and waiting for the owner to call back, I went back into the car and started a new hotels.com search for another place to stay. A few minutes later, the manager/owner called. ||Unbeknownst to us, a separate email had been sent stating that the owner/manager had changed the code. I’m not sure why the code was changed at all. It was very late at night and our son was exhausted, and started to get scared as we were in a dark driveway trying to figure things out. ||Since the owner decided to change the code, it would have been better if he called us or texted us with message alerts. We are overseas travelers and, at the very least, it would have been better if the manager/owner asked us to email a reply stating that we received his notice of the code change. He shouldn’t change information and assume we received the email. True professionals in the hospitality business would take caution to verify communication. The owner can’t randomly alter necessary information without taking added steps to verify whether or not we received his notice of change. ||The manager/owner should have basic empathy and understanding. If he were in a foreign country, like Morocco or Ireland, he would need proper communication. I doubt he’d be happy feeling unsafe in a dark driveway in a foreign country. ||Lastly, we had to drive out and park on the street. We couldn’t even park behind our unit. After so much had gone wrong, our son started to worry about my husband having to walk from the street and down the dark driveway. ||The last thing we want as foreign travelers is stress and worry. This place gave us lots of both. ||Clear and fully informed communication is basic. If this basic necessity isn’t provided, nothing else matters. ||There were other issues with this place. For instance, the next morning after I showered and got out, our son was the second to shower. My husband was the third to enter the shower but there was no more hot water. We had to check out by 10am. This stressed my husband because the water just wasn’t heating up, and this was causing a delay. ||The troubles aren’t worth staying here. So many better options. I wish we would have...
Read moreThe best thing I can say is that the non-stick frying pan was good. Now, here's to the reality of it! Check-in, no one there, and so we WAITED, it was slow, and no warm welcome or information. Just given a key that was hard to use to unlock the door. The corridor stinks!! Once we went in, we were taking back by the very old decor and furniture, but here we are. The beds were old, I mean like sleeping in bed at an old family batch in the middle ocno where old!! Lumpy, mattress protector was disgusting, and the sheets had stains and narks. How we didn't get bed bugs is beyond us. The walls are grimy and vomitious, like never washed. The carpet didn't look vacuumed, and there were years of grime on walls, doors, and skirts. I'm not even talking about the rotten skirts or dents in walls and furniture. I'm talking about the filth. The kitchen was poorly stalked. The fridge, while cold, had no shelving in the doors, so little storage and the exhaust fan over the stove was broken. So, if you cooked, you couldn't use the exhaust fan to extract smells. The bathroom was okay, but the shower was too low, great for a face wash or a kid. The sinks would drain, even from brushing your teeth. I had a bad back from the sleep. Terrible noise, the air con squealed, the curtains were old and torn. The TV was a basic freeview. They allowed noisy people to party and play loud music. When I went to the counter to address my concerns, there was NEVER anyone there to speak to. We left a day early and didnt even get to speak with a manager about it. We stay in many places quite often, for similar prices, and that was THE worst by far. Avoid this motel. They are not interested in anything but your money. Filthy and...
