First time with the family and friends, was told that food was good. Walked in with a great expectation. Service seemed very good at the start since we were the only customers on a weekend night. Seemed strange but were happy to be given priority.
Food Mixed meat platter which I hoped would have been good but immediately let down by a very strong flavoured salty sheek kebab, rest of the platter was good for me but others didn't feel so as they were pushing it all to me.
The lachha paratha seemed store bought and didn't seem fresh.
Chicken korma, paneer saagwala and roti was good.
The lamb biriyani was a shocker, I don’t know which part of India was the biriyani from, but it was not authentic at all and didn’t taste anything like biriyani, to make it worse it was saltless. Sorry to say friends but if you want to know how Biriyani tastes, please don’t order here unless they give you a special taster without billing it.
Service, all went well until the point when the pal their asked, “how was the food?” I started with how Biriyani tasted but he got defensive straight away saying “we have been serving for 10 years” (so what? Do you still want me to eat it?) and then as though it didn’t bother me, I continued to give him feedback about rest of the food considering it was meant to help them serve better. But he never really apologized for anything. That was rude my friend.
Worse part was, couple of us had indigestion that night and felt poorly until next day, dumped all the takeaway next day.
Kohinoor needs to taste the food before it leaves the kitchen. One major rule for restaurants.
Please make fresh food and if it can’t be authentic then please learn to make it or don’t serve it, please.
Don’t ask for feedback if you can’t accept it.
Apologise if customer is not happy and see how else you can compensate to make them happy. Do not leave the customer walking out unhappy.
Can't say I wouldn't recommend to anyone, if you want food, check customer's reviews and order only the food with good reviews but I highly doubt another visit after my bad experience. None of us even remembered to take photos due to bad...
Read moreDear The Owner of Kohinoor Indian Restaurant,
I visited your restaurant for dinner with my boyfriend yesterday and was very disappointed to witness inappropriate behaviour from your kitchen staff towards a delivery driver.
We saw that the food was already prepared and sitting on the counter. The driver politely asked one of the chefs to hand it over, but the chefs refused, stating that it wasn’t their job and that he would have to wait for the waitress—who was actively serving us at the time. One of the chefs even yelled at the driver, telling him to either wait or cancel the order. It was shocking, especially since the food was already ready and right in front of them.
This kind of behaviour is completely unacceptable in our community. We try our best to support local businesses, but we cannot support a business that treats people—especially hardworking delivery drivers—with such disrespect.
I hope you will look into this matter seriously and take steps to ensure this doesn’t happen...
Read moreLike some of the reviews here… this might be some of the worst customer service in any restaurant I’ve been to (and bad practices).
There were many small things that I picked up on that ultimately made me give this a 1 star (would not recommend coming here, getting food court Indian would still be better).
The following are:
-The waitress did not appear approachable or friendly. -The waitress does not know the difference between different meals. -The waitress did not make any suggestions or provide assistance. -Did not initially provide water, and when asked, forgot, and then had to ask the second time. -The food is definitely OVERPRICED for the portion size. -Quite scammy, but provides a single serving of rice and deems it for “two people” when literally saw a table of 1 had the same portion of rice. -Went to pay, and the waitress was unprofessional and seemed unengaged when talking.
I hope this review finds you well to not waste your money...
