Opium Cafe — Restaurant in Upper Harbour

After searching everywhere for a waffle place on google we found this cafe which on the menu showed waffles with cream and a myriad of other ingredients on the menu in multiple pictures. To our disappointment the only waffle was a kids one with icecream, not the breakfast one as seen in pictures on the menus on google.

Once we walk in the door we stood around in the entrance for a minute before being said hello to very briefly. I had to tell my partner to find a table and went up to the counter to find out if we order there or they come to us and also to get a menu. No customer service. Once ordered, which took a while for them to understand what I was ordering and me eventually holding up the menu and pointing to the items.

We then waited 45 minutes for our food, we almost just got up and left without it. The food was underwhelming and when it arrived wasn't very warm. After we had finished our food my chai latte still hadnt arrived, when it did it was bland, spiceless luke warm milk.

I would not recommend this cafe to anyone, and definitely will not...

I went here with a client and ordered French toast , if you look at the photo of this and look back to other French toasts images at this place one would say that i have been robbed. I could count the tiny pieces of fruit to find it didnt even make up one fruit except the babana. The bacon I had to search for most likely one long strip..it tasted ok I also ordered a toasted sandwich which was made with white bread and charged 8.90 I could not see ham but I hope there was asni gave this to my client and cut it up for him to eat ..I could not see ham on there,I think if they make this with white bread it should nit even be 5.00 as a whole loaf of bread is so cheap .the French toast was 21.90 also white bread used for this but definately not worth that ...It's a sad rip off ..the service was a friendly one but I felt cheated I eat out a lot and am a google guide for years and this was...

If you enjoy broken salt and pepper shakers that drop the whole of their contents on top of your food then this is the place for you. I've been here numerous times for their breakfast meals and have finally just given up on the allure of 'cheap meals, big portions'. Not worth it. They forgot to give us our coffee, couldn't figure out our change and the food is oily and obviously pre-prepared....
