Total waste of very precious time on our short trip to Waiheke Island which only allowed us time for lunch. Out of all the places we chose this one ahead of time due to the location.

Lovely waiter took our order by memory. However it started to pour down and we went inside, informing the same waiter, who then went and checked to see if a table was available. In the mean time I saw our food being carried and I went up to a frustrated server to tell her we moved. She snarled at me that next time we should tell them. Absolutely flabbergasted at her surprising rude attitude I pointed her to the table we moved to, which understandably was still to be cleared from the previous patrons. It looked like she wanted to throw the plates in the air as there was nowhere to put them down. It seems it was a serious inconvenience that we dared move inside due to the pouring rain.

I had to ask for kids ice screams that was part of the meal. Only one was delivered. About 15 minutes later I asked for the second one, which they did not even realise, even though they had given us 2 kids meal.

The terrible service caused us to be late back for a ferry and miss an appointment. And all that for food that was not worth it.

I understand bad days, but this was the worst restaurant experience I have ever had with a server taking to a patron like that.

I have to compliment them though on the speed that the food was done. I asked and they said 10-15 mins, and...

RACIST restaurant! Out of all the several years spent in NZ the only time I felt some racism was today at this restaurant! The male staff is nice and polite, location is excellent, food is average and female staff are terrible!!! We ordered a couple of things to eat and drink. But wanted to have one more drink (tomato juice) and waited for the staff to assist. There were two lady staff, one didnt bother to notice me and my husband although we were just sitting inside in front of their eyes, but she kept going to other tables almost 20-25 time and never did she bother to even see us although we kept raising hands and trying to make eye contact and even called her out a few times. A clear sign of racism because every other table had white people sitting and we were only people of colour! She was intentionally ignoring us. The second lady was cleaning tables, next to ours, this was almost after half an hour we waited for assistance, we asked her if she can get a tomato juice, she said sure..but it was very evidently sarcastic. She went out cleaning other tables..continued putting cutlery on them..continued putting menus on them..came back..we had eye contact..and she ignored and continued attending other guests..then went inside..came back..had another eye contact with me..and then again ignored and went to other tables! The restaurant had clear racist staff and I am highly disappointed and would NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE...

This was a very disappointing dinner. 8 of us went to celebrate the engaged couple the eve of their wedding, we waited over 20 minutes for drink orders to be taken, and then they only took half the tableโ€™s order. Then they messed up the food (waited 45 minutes for food) and they forgot to put in the brideโ€™s order. When I finally went up to ask about it, they offered her a free drink for compensation. They then took 6 of our drink orders and left two behind, and tried to take orders again. The food itself was sub par. Only 3 people in our party enjoyed their food (bang bang fish) and the bride was eating well after we all finished our food. Half of my food was ice cold while the other half warm. Then they brought out too many drinks that we did not order and said theyโ€™d comp it for their mistake. Come bill time, they then tried to screw us over by putting all the โ€œcompโ€™dโ€ drinks on the bill and couldnโ€™t remember that they messed up. For two dinners and four drinks, our bill was almost $180 NZD which was $140 CAD- absolutely despicable and the whole restaurant was DEAD the entire night we just saw half to be staff sitting down the whole time. Theyโ€™d take our drink orders and then sit down for 20 minutes. Save your money (and appetite) and go somewhere else this place was a complete dud and I have no idea how it has so many good reviews. We were all so disappointed in everything to do...

Shout out to the amazing locals for the beautiful experience and memories! We were traveling Waiheke island and we showed up in Charlie Farley's. Such a happy place in a beautiful Sunday evening! People were singing, dancing ๐Ÿ’ƒ and having a good time. We felt like this is the time and place to play Piano man by Billy Joel! So we made a request for the song to the musician who seems to know the locals very well. He changed the lyrics and used real names of people that were present there. He respected Eileen as old man and Zoe as the bartender in the song. Everyone loved it! Eileen herself came to us to wish us good luck XOXO. We were very touched. We'll cherish the memory forever! I'll try to upload the video on my social media soon. Thanks & Love!_Roman Mortuza

What was great about the place: the staff were very accommodating and cheerful. All of them from the one who took orders, to the one who took payment were wonderful which is the reason for the 2 stars. The food however was a big letdown. The calamari was soggy and just came all by itself (Like cmon if you're going to charge $25 for a main dish, at least have a side salad or something on the plate). The poke bowl flavours did not really complement each other. The crayfish roll had potato chips with it (quite literally the $1.99 a bag supermarket potato chips, again cmon if you're going to charge $28 for a roll at least make the chips in your kitchen. Sorry, but the food was really disappointing which is a shame because the staff & location were awesome.

We had been told great things about this cafe but weโ€™re quite disappointed. $14 for a small bowl of super oily (I know they were truffle fries but did they need to be drenched?) chips with what looked like shredded Parmesan from the supermarket on top. The bench seats inside were quite dirty, with visible footprints clearly from children climbing about. The coffee didnโ€™t taste good, and took 20 minutes to arrive! We understand there might be staff shortages but perhaps close part of the cafe to allow for fewer patrons to ensure better quality or something imo, just very disappointing! We were going to stay for lunch (breakfast only runs til 11) but after the fries and coffee we decided against it. Iโ€™m sure their dinner menu is better.
