First off it would be good if the individual owners had their individual businesses listed here, as otherwise the review averages really are meaningless. After all, maybe the taco place is awesome but the Thai is mediocre? One has nothing to do with the other.
But to the food and the hall: the location is nice, people seem to like to hang out here. Our table outside wasn’t cleaned, and I don’t think that was an exception as I saw nobody cleaning the place.
We went for the Thai. I can’t recommend it. The dishes we had - green curry with beef and Ginger with seafood - were too salty and generally of low quality. Especially the beef, while plenty, I’d love to have half as much meat and twice the quality instead.
The curry was really just throwing a couple of green beans (overcooked), eggplant (which wasn’t cooked enough) and pre-sliced carrots (no longer fresh) into a premade sauce, and add some slices of mediocre beef. Way too much sauce, too few veggies. I did not finish my dish.
Again, generally speaking, it’s a dreadful experience. No interaction with anybody. You order your food on a display, you pay digitally, you pick it up when it’s ready. When I go out, I like interaction with a waiter who actually knows what they are doing, get some recommendations or crack a joke.
The food is all just convenience food. For those that don’t understand what it means: it is prepared outside the kitchens, bought in bulk, not freshly made on the premises. Pre-cooked, pre-sliced, pre-peeled etc. Nobody here can actually cook, and nobody actually does.
And given that there is no interaction, one is honestly better off just buying a meal at the local supermarket and enjoy it at home.
I give it three stars for vibe, but you won’t see me...
Read moreShould be called mediocre street! First place was the burger place(jobros) and it was just normal. Had the wagyu burger but nothing outstanding just meh, same quality as a good local takeaways but for half the price! 5/10 Second place was the taco place(loco bros) and again nothing outstanding. Had the pork and chicken tacos, pork was not tasty but the chicken one was not bad, but again no wow factor. 6/10 Third place was the Spanish place (mar & tierra) we had the ceviche. It came with some corn chips. We didn’t try the arepas maybe that would’ve tasted better but the raw fish lacked flavour maybe curing time was not long enough and the fish was tough. 6/10 Fourth place was the Pho (sapa kitchen) This was probably the best out of all the things we’ve tried, but again flavours can’t compare against well known Vietnamese restaurants in Auckland. 7/10 Lastly, the pizza place (stumpys pizza) was absolutely rubbish. Never had pizza that bad before!! We ordered the prosciutto pizza and it was soggy and soft like wet cardboard. Lacked flavours, could not taste any cheese or prosciutto despite seeing them on the pizza. The most ridiculous part was when all the pizza topping was sliding off the pizza as you can see from the picture. Worst pizza ever! -10/10
Overall this food court didn’t meet its hype. Totally overpriced and was not delicious at all. Don’t even bother going for dinner (6-8pm) because you won’t find a seat without being a vulture watching the people finish their last bite in order to get their seats. Just go to a restaurant and dine in for around the same price with much better...
Read moreLast Friday before the rain turned into the 500-year flood, we spent 2 hours spending money at Street Feast and enjoying the great atmosphere. However I made the mistake of using the "free" parking below.
Be warned! There are cameras mounted to record your arrival and departure time and smack you with a $65 fine for parking for more than 90 minutes. It's just cruelty from 'smart compliance management' and whoever owns the building. Either let me pay by the hour ahead of time, or send a reasonable parking invoice which I wouldn't mind paying.
Street Feast - what gives?! Eating out is expensive enough, 90 minutes is stingy as, and throwing $65 to the wind leaves me...
