The blonde, older bartender mistook me for someone else despite it being my first time at this RSA. She seemed to be under the influence on the job, slurring her words with a glassy look in her eyes. A friend was quite intoxicated and deservingly had to leave, but despite being very respectful of the rules, she came up to me and started verbally abusing me and threatening me. I was told that "I don't know her and the people she knows and that I will regret ever crossing her as I don't know who her boyfriend is", despite apologising for the actions of my friends and creating no drama all night. I've always found the Titrangi RSA to be a vibrant and friendly place. The food is reasonably priced (and quite delicious) and there's always some form of entertainment going on. I've attended a few of the 'open mic nights' and they are a huge amount of fun. The club has some wonderful facilities such as the open deck and gym (for members). The deck really does make a difference on these horribly muggy Auckland evenings! The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly and the bar staff are helpful and bubbly. Titirangi RSA is one of those unique, family orientated community focal hubs that many other suburbs jealously covet. The food is always excellent; the bar and prices are incomparable; membership is cheap and there's even a members gym. The RSA is also extremely supportive of the local music and arts community and hosts a popular fortnightly open mic evening, runs occasional specialist shows by local musicians and is also a venue for events included in the annual Titirangi Festival of Music program. The staff are always friendly and courteous and I completely recommend a visit.
