What an amazing restaurant. We've been here for our wedding anniversary and everything from the table to drinks and food was perfect. We wanted to drink some bubble and I was positively surprised to see that they have a very reasonably priced prosecco. (I don't mean cheap, but comfortably affordable.) The service was superb. The young lady explained us what we can order and how we can order. So we decided to try a lot of things and share them. Everything she recommended turned to be very satisfying. For people who consider a wedding anniversary or birthday celebration, I want to underline this: In Baduzzi, you don't get bothered by the music or other customers talks. In my last few experiences in high end Auckland restaurants, my biggest problem was the noise. We didn't suffer from that in Baduzzi. We were able to hear each other without yelling, and we didn't have to listen to other tables' talks. On top of that we weren't rushed to finish our food. The plates arrived with an adequate time in between. For the meat, we had warmed up plates. Our water glasses never remained empty. They paid attention to every detail. To me, it was a very European experience. All in all it was a perfect dinner.

My wife and I popped in here after hearing some good things. The setting was nice. The food was lovely and wine list not bad too, so it seemed to start off well. Starters were lovely, meatballs done two ways, super good. However after our mains arrived we felt a few things were off with staff and how they looked after us. It was like suddenly we had been served and that was it, job done. The floor manager (US accent) was simply walking past tables without checking on them. Section waiters or not, flagging staff for another wine was difficult and he was more interested in how he looked than helping anyone including us. It was clear staff were new but moreover, no one was smiling. Only the owner seemed be smiling and the rest looked like they didn't want to be there including the lady that seated us. So we did not order another wine and left. Super bad? No not all, just really frustrating cold service. The worst thing (and we were maybe somewhat to blame) was the price of the Fiorentina steak. We were told of a special and went with it. We dine everywhere and have done for decades. No kids and tons of travel means we don't tend to worry about prices too much. So this was never about money. We figured from all our dinning experiences, any Fiorentina steak is at worst case, usually worst case is about $130 to $140 a kilo high end. More often cheaper. And nothing was said about the cost either when it was offered. So we asked for a Kilo of the two options. I heard my wife and she was clear. We were charged for a 1.1Kg but I can easily let that go. However, the price of this Fiorentina steak was $198!?? I had never in all my days experienced this. Only where it was Wagyu and specialty steak in high-end steak houses like Rockpool in Melbourne would you pay such a price. It was way outside anything on the menu. Infact had I known I would not have ordered it. Moreover, it was not anything special. Nice, but not anything to rave about. When we paid, I was so stunned at the price I did not show my wife for fear of making a scene. So I simply paid it and left. Clearly it was this price because the receipt shows this properly. So clearly it was a special of huge proportions that no one bothered to explain :-) You can see our bill in the images below. So, we won't be back. Mainly for the lack of happiness.. it doesn't make you want to be there. But also for the lack of communication over an extreme priced dish compared to anything else on the menu. Lesson learned.

The Ambience is very good, staff serviced us were very friendly and very professional to introduce the food. The food presentation also very good. However, the taste is really make us upset as we been to The Grove was fantastic so I thought Baduzzi shouldn't be that bad. Crayfish meat ball were cold and warm mix I thought it was mean to that after chat with staff, actually it haven't totally warmed up as it pre cook during the morning and keep frozen for the day. they wave this dish cost as apologies which is good attitude. the taste so definitely not that good plus a little salty. The cracker cheese is over too much maybe we are only two person to share 6 dishes make us tired? Paste is our mistake order. I thought it come like noodles 🍝 with cheese actually it dumplings 🥟 inside fully cheese and the taste just cheese nothing else plus sweet caramel almond sauce I love eggplant but the cheese is really more than eggplant like eggplant is 10%, 90% is cheese again😦 Also maybe because we dont understand Italian words, or dose each Italian food come with over balance cheese? Chicken made us really upset, it's salt and the chicken meat is like aged old chicken is dry thick. Sauce is also not very balanced. We ate too much salty and creamy food so order fruit dessert to balance the toppings fruit and cream were nice just the base is very dry and hard like keep couple days. We spent $165 for two person and not including the waved meat ball dish $30

Ordered: Wood Fired Bistecca - 300g Scotch Fillet Squid Ink Pasta Wild Caught King Prawn (pay per single prawn) The food hands down, shout out to the chefs, they really know what they are doing, and they do it absolutely well. All the food we ordered was genuinely really well done. The pasta was perfection, and the steak dish was outstanding along with the prawn as well. When it comes to food, they are doing a great job. Although, my main concern is the service provided. And I have just seen a similar comment posted this week in the reviews. Very cold. Dined with a friend after work, and from the moment we walked in the service felt a bit off, yes we were greeted and shown to our seats. But it felt very cold, like he did not want to be there at his job, and he would rather be somewhere else. As we decided on what to order, I wanted to order two main dishes personally as I wanted to try both the duck ragu and steak. I just happened to have a larger than average appetite on this day (not that I should defend myself because I am a paying customer, and of course I would share too) so when I placed my order I was shocked to be shut down advising that the order would be too big for me. So I only ordered the steak dish. At the end of the evening walking out, we felt the cold attitudes apart from I assume the manager who was lovely and wished us well. Definitely will not return, but will say the food was great.

My partner and I celebrated our 12th anniversary at Baduzzi, and it was an incredible experience. Simone provided outstanding service—friendly and professional, he truly enhanced our visit. Thank you for your service Simone!! We started with wood-fired, wild-caught king prawns with black pepper pancetta and molata piccante, which we loved. For our mains, I had the Karitane crayfish meatballs with pumpkin, smoked butter, and pistachio salsa—deliciously sweet and savory, paired perfectly with chewy focaccia. My partner opted for the handpicked South Island grass-fed scotch fillet, which was melt-in-your-mouth tender, accompanied by creamy mashed potatoes and rocket, drizzled with Giusti balsamic. The atmosphere was inviting, featuring a modern Italian vibe with wooden and white decor and beautiful plants. All the staff were attentive and friendly. We can’t wait to return and highly recommend Baduzzi for anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience.

We booked in for just the two of us to celebrate a birthday. The service was really great, right from arrival to departure. However, the food fell flat for me. The stracciatella & aubergine was nice but not amazing, same for the Carpaccio of yellowfin tuna. The wild caught king prawns were the best dish. We finished with the Agnolotti of gurnard & scampi, which was our least favourite - the gurnard and scampi were lost in what felt like a scrambled egg/quiche mixture. I’m not really sure how to describe it - but the egg overpowered everything. The side of green vegetables was 90% kale and a few other things. We decided that this stage to not proceed with dessert. Cocktails were nice. Most likely won’t be back - maybe we just orders the wrong things.
