We've been regulars at the Auckland Fish Market for the past three years, visiting every Saturday for a meal and a stroll. However, our recent experience on Saturday, 31st August, has left us incredibly disappointed.
We parked in our usual spot, entered our vehicle details as we always do, and enjoyed our breakfast and walk. Upon returning, we were shocked to find a parking ticket on our car, citing an "invalid payment." Our tracker showed we had only been there for an hour and a half, well within the allotted time.
We submitted two appeals with evidence, including a request to review the cameras showing us entering our details into the parking meter. Both appeals were denied, and we were advised to take this issue up with Auckland Fish Market directly.
This feels like a blatant revenue-gathering exercise at the expense of loyal patrons. After this incident, we can no longer support a business that treats its regular customers in this manner. While it may not impact their revenue, they've certainly lost loyal...

5 stars The Auckland Fish Market is a must-visit for any seafood lover! Located near the water, it has an awesome mix of 8 diverse eateries, all offering fresh, flavorful dishes—from sushi and oysters to fish & chips and seafood platters. There’s truly something for every palate, and the quality is consistently excellent.
Beyond the food, there's a lovely central courtyard that makes it a great place to relax with friends or family. It has a fun, lively atmosphere without being overwhelming, and the indoor-outdoor layout gives it a laid-back coastal vibe.
What sets this place apart is the seafood market itself—packed with an impressive variety of fresh seafood to take home. Whether you're after prawns, mussels, salmon, or something more adventurous, it’s all there, and super fresh.

Read moreGreat atmosphere. Family friendly, however, seating outside can be packed so it's a first come first served basis otherwise if you don't mind sharing a table with other strangers. There's more seating inside the fish market. Choose your food wisely. Had fish and chips from there it was nice but needed a little bit of seasoning.
Fresh shucked oysters, kina bunnets, fish, mussels, etc you'll find it there. However, it is a bit pricey so, you've been warned 😂. There's also a cute little cafe in the corner serving coffee, pastries, and sandwiches, there's other different cuisine within the fish market for those who are after something different. Vietnamese pho I got from there wasn't too bad as well. 😊
Alot of parking spaces and playground for the children is just across the road. Interlink city (red bus) bus also makes it's stop there and will bring you back into the city and Britomart...
