Soul Bar & Bistro, perched in the heart of Auckland, is not just a dining venue but a sensory experience. From the moment you step in, you are greeted with a stunning view that perfectly frames the vibrant city and tranquil waterfront, setting the stage for an unforgettable gastronomic journey. The culinary adventure begins with the prawns, each bite a testament to the freshness and quality of the ingredients. The skillful preparation highlights the prawns' natural sweetness, harmoniously balanced with delicate herbs and spices. The journey continues with the ribs, a masterpiece of texture and flavor. The meat, tender and succulent, effortlessly falls off the bone, each morsel richly coated in a signature sauce that is both comforting and invigorating. But the experience does not end there. The chocolate pudding is the grand finale, a luxurious treat that melts in your mouth, its rich, velvety texture intermingling with the deep, robust flavor of premium cocoa. Each spoonful is a celebration, a sweet note that lingers long after the meal is over. Complementing the exquisite food is an impeccable selection of cocktails, beer, and wine, curated to enhance the flavors of the dishes. Whether you prefer a refreshing cocktail, a crisp beer, or a fine wine, the options are thoughtfully chosen to cater to every palate. The cherry on top of this delightful experience is the service. The staff at Soul Bar & Bistro are not just servers but ambassadors of hospitality. Their attention to detail, genuine warmth, and deep knowledge of the menu make each diner feel special and taken care of. In essence, Soul Bar & Bistro is more than a meal; it's a celebration of fine food, breathtaking views, and genuine hospitality. It's a place where each visit promises new delights and cherished memories. A must-visit for locals and travelers alike, it stands out as a beacon of culinary excellence in Auckland.

If you're looking for a warm vibrant atmosphere with devine food and friendly staff. This is the restaurant for you. We were greeted and served by Michael who was such a joy to be served by. We shared a few laughs together and his recommendations were on point; his service was flawless. I was so indecisive on what to order, his thoughts on the menu were most helpful. We were offered specialty menu pairings that were not otherwise noted on the menu. The whole experience was perfect and nothing I could fault. Every bite was another experience. We started with drinks which were made well as a frequent cocktail drinker, they went down with ease. With this I enjoyed a side of Smoked Trevally Toast Lemon Parsley Toast which completely took me by surprise at how the flavours danced in my mouth. I followed this with a few Beer Battered Oysters and Sriracha Aioli. The main course was a mix pair of main and entree sides, all mentioned personally by Michael. This was the Green Goddess Salad with Macaroni Cheese, Ham Off The Bone, Truffle, Parmesan Crust and Korean style fried chicken (unsure where that was on the menu). Ended this feast with the Snickers Sundae, Peanut Butter Foam, Torched Nougatine, Dulce De Leche and an Espresso Martini. Overall, if you've been planning to visit for a special occasion, or any occasion, just do it already. You'll regret not having gone sooner!

Just a fantastic experience. Our waitress was amazing, unfortunately I don't know her name but she was working on 03/11 at 8pm For starters, immediate service. We ordered the shapeshifter and one other that was similar to a mojito. Both delicious cocktails. Secondly, we ordered everything at once under the recommendation of the waitress as she said they were pretty busy and this would make sure our food was prompt, she was correct. We had the scampi cocktail, which was delicious but needed a lemon slice or something for a bit of acid, that's my only suggestion. We had the Beef Short Rib Ragu and it was just stunning, as well as the market fish which was hapuka today, just an absolutely stunning meal. Alongside the mains we also had a side of broccolini, which was lovely with the market fish. 1 starter, 1 side and 2 mains was perfect for us (2 people). Finally we each had a glass of the Maison de Provence 2021 Rosé, which was lovely with the fish. The Ragu would probably be better with a French red. Overall, our service was amazing, all the staff took great care with us. The atmosphere was amazing, even though they were super busy, they still managed to make it a great experience. The food was just beautiful, and I'd highly recommend everything we had, aswell as the cocktails and wine. 10/10

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Soul Bar & Bistro in Auckland CBD, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience! We went specifically for the oysters, and they absolutely did not disappoint. Each oyster was fresh, perfectly briny, and served with just the right accompaniments. It was so good that it felt like a culinary rebirth with every bite; I found myself savoring the flavors and wishing I could have more. The atmosphere at Soul Bar & Bistro is also worth mentioning. With its vibrant and lively setting, it’s the perfect place to enjoy a meal with friends or even for a romantic dinner. The views of the waterfront add to the ambiance, making it a great spot for both locals and visitors alike. We also decided to try the market price beef, and while it was a bit pricier than expected, the quality was excellent. Cooked to perfection, it was tender and flavorful, complementing the oysters beautifully. If you’re dining with a group, the shareable nature of the dishes makes it a great deal, allowing everyone to sample different flavors and enjoy a variety of dishes together. Overall, I highly recommend Soul Bar & Bistro for anyone looking to indulge in high-quality oysters and a fantastic atmosphere. It’s a must-visit in Auckland CBD, and I can’t wait to return for more!

I recently visited Soul Bar and Eatery with my colleagues, and it was an enjoyable experience from start to finish. The restaurant has a lively and inviting atmosphere, perfect for both group gatherings and intimate dinners. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring that we were well taken care of throughout our meal. The three-course meal was delightful and fulfilling. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared and presented, showcasing a range of flavors that left everyone at the table satisfied. The menu offered a good variety, ensuring that there was something for everyone to enjoy. The standout for me was the dessert selection. There was an excellent choice of sweet treats to round off the meal, each as delicious as the last. It's clear that a lot of attention to detail goes into crafting each dessert, and it was the perfect end to a great dining experience. Overall, Soul Bar and Eatery provides a wonderful dining experience, combining great food, attentive service, and a welcoming atmosphere. Whether you’re dining with a group or enjoying a night out, it's a place I would highly recommend. I’m looking forward to returning for another memorable meal.

Soul Bar and Bistro – A Perfect Waterfront Dining Experience I dined at Soul Bar and Bistro on January 12, 2025, and it was an absolute occasion from start to finish. The atmosphere was vibrant yet refined, setting the tone for an unforgettable evening. The service was impeccable, with Sam attending to us with warmth and professionalism—truly enhancing the experience. As for the food, it was nothing short of a delicious journey for the tastebuds. The whole flounder and whitebait were perfectly cooked and flavorful, while the crayfish crumpet was a delightful twist on a classic. The desserts were the evening’s showstoppers: the crème brûlée had a lovely texture, the Snickers sundae was a decadent treat for those with a sweet tooth, and the cheesecake semifreddo was simply divine. Drinks were equally impressive! I highly recommend the Soul Punch, Peanut Nutter, and Brandy Alexander—all unique and worth a try. Soul Bar and Bistro will become my favourite spot for fine dining and special occasions on the Auckland waterfront. Whether you’re celebrating or just indulging, this place delivers excellence in every aspect.
